well, if in a tent counts as "under the stars" at least 180. long bike ride the length and breadth of Mexico make up for the most of it. I really can put up my Firstlight tent in less than 2 minutes with all that practice. ha

I spent much of the summer under the stars this year. Mostly in town, but still outside and under the stars. Much nicer than sleeping inside.

More than I can count in 2014. Finishing up a month camping beaches in South Australia, and the Gold Coast. Stoked to catch waves with my daughter and not so about wearing a wet suit in the south. Endless beaches, point breaks, and wildness down under. Happy to be boarding a plane home today to the warm waters of Hawaii.

NICE !!!
Which Island are you heading to? And where are the pics of down under surf? We want PICs !!!
does a tent count? 4 months for me then in 2014. More to do with looking for a new home, rather then out galavanting around.

Count your blessings Dean.. 39 is pretty dang good. Especially around where you live. Thats beautiful country, even if much of the time was spent looking for Matthew.

Not really under the stars, but in a tent in North Pine Campground for 5 months. I went home a few times so probably only 100 nights or so. Yea, this simi-retired life is pretty good:-)

in a tent in North Pine Campground for 5 months. How is this possible?
I assumed that there was a limit for the number of nights you can spend there.
Is this a wrong recollection?

41 nights in a tent or bivy
74 outside climbing days and mostly injury free
A big thanks to partners that made it happen!
Here's to an equally good 2015 season!

I've already got some in 2015. Woke up at 4:30 AM last week camping in Utah, it was so unbelievably cold I had to drive to a Denny's for a place to get warm. In my winter bag, I was wearing all my gear, 4 layers including a gore tex shell, the air inside the sleeping bag was ice cold. But once it warms up a little, I always sleep under the stars and don't own a tent. I sleep in my van if it rains.

Maybe 30 nights in a tent. Probably around 180 days climbing outside, though.
