Hi Monolith,

You wrote,

"It was how would the conspiracy movement have been affected by who was president"

I just reread Mimi's post. You are correct. opps. So how do I answer? I think I still have concerns about the honesty and integrity of our leadership, both republican and democrat. I think that we are owned by the wealthy and the corporations. I was never 100 percent for Bill Clinton, I just did not like to see the hypocricy which has caused the backlash that Mimi speaks of.

I do not like trickle down economics. I believe that it favors the wealthy. I prefer a supply side economy.

I do not like having our economy and our social security tied to growth. We can not grow forever. Already we complain that there are too many people.

I think that if we fight ignorance with a good education, we can defeat hunger and poverty. Or at least greatly reduce them. I believe that poverty and oppresion, both political and religious, are the primary cause of unrest in this world.

I think that right now our country and our religions are run by the power hungry and the greedy and if we do not wake up, then there is suffering to come.

Hi Mimi,

"I appreciate your civility Moosie. I know we fundamentally disagree on some key issues"

Thank you, maybe these last few years have taught me something, although I will tell a little story on myself. I got the nickname moosie partly because I am just like a moose, most of the time I mind my own business. Most of the time I am gentle and kind, but sometimes....I rage in the woods. Here is an example. When I first started working for the Wawona Hotel, I held a fellow employee over the railing on the second story of the hotel. I had him by his shoulders. I was a bit angry. He was a lazy ass and I did not like that. I did not get fired. They couldn't fire me, I was one of their hardest workers. I don't mind slacking if you get your work done, but this guy was lazy and he was bothering the female employees. Hahaha, I got a 2 week suspension. Just what I needed. 2 weeks to go backpacking. So I ended up with the nickname "moosie". Most of the time I prefer to be kind, but I do rile up occasionally. I am working on that and have become more placid as I have hopefully matured.

I think that we might agree on more then we would disagree on.

John

monolith, thanks for the CT/OCT clarification. Like Ron and Woody, can I be unofficial? I'll check out the Spider story tomorrow. I'm sure it's entertaining. And Loonball is a good one.

Funny work story Moosie. Glad you didn't get axed for straightening that lardass out. You're right, we do agree on a lot from what you've written. I'm just concerned about the slippery slope of socialism. I totally agree that unsustainable economic practices are bad news. I don't want to get on a soapbox right now about education and poverty. As for the dishonesty of our government regardless of who's in power. Good luck with that one. Don't have anything to add.

I hope you let go of the 9/11 conspiracy stuff. I have an old climbing partner/friend who totally screwed up his life over it and is possibly going to jail with a huge fine. He made the mistake of writing to a university official that Bush would be shot for treason and the Secret Service paid him a visit. He had a few guns around and stuck to the inside job story and whamo, committed to a hospital for a medical evaluation. He summoned the BYU prof and those other whackjobs and of course, they were nowhere to be found. Maybe Moveon.org, Soros et. al will provide him with an attorney.

Anyway, gotta crash. Looking forward to more dialogue over the holidays.

Cheers,
Mimi

"n my knott-so humble opinion, making a thread unintelligable is anything but great
(unless you have a ton of time to waste tediously scrolling back and forth forever). "

Hardman if you are participating in this thread then you are already proving that you have said time and poor judgement to boot.
