Ben and Will both are heroes.
The next time I get depressed, I will just think of this story.
There are still good people and tough old dogs out there!

Charlee's 15 minutes of fame! But you will be happy to have things calm down after a while and be back to the good old simple life, for sure. Now that your dog is home, that is.

Just got another call and it will definately be on tonite at 11 pm. I should be able to post a link. It won't be edited by the reporter that came out to my house (Natalie) because she will be off on another "Great" story about someone getting shot in the face.

Hey Uncle John,
FANTASTIC news about Charlie. Congratulations. Sure have a lot of great encouragement on Supertopo here. Wayne told me about the delema a couple weeks ago then sent me this link today. Going to try and catch the news via net. Give my sweet Aunt my love. Good to see your pic's here.
All the best and Merry Christmas.

Just love this story! Went for a walk this morning with my cattle dog mix, Django, and thought of Charlie. The thought of that sweetheart shivering in the Gorge for weeks is not easy.

Congratulations to you!
My first trip to the gorge was to help my friend look for her lost dog who got out of the car after the long drive and just disappeared into the brush. http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/326486/LOST-DOG-Owens-Lower-Gorge She hired rescue dogs to try to find her trail, but after that and a month of human searching, Oof was never found.
I'm glad that you and Charlie have a happy ending.

Oh man! If Charlee could only talk, I'd love to know what she was thinking lying out there by the river all that time, just waiting for you to return. I wonder what she ate, she must have eaten more than just poop over three weeks to be able to have survived at all, right? Or can a dog go 3 weeks without eating? I think I read somewhere a human can. We just can't do without water.
