Thanks Ron!

My box o' goodies arrived, with some interesting extras. For instance a sawn-off Longware bong. Longware bongs are the best; thin gauge steel to bite better, lightweight, excellent for last-resort placements in those pesky bands of fossilized styrofoam that abound in parts of southern Utah.

Great deal, hope whatever is left of the rest of the stuff can find some good homes.

Okay, after much back-and-forth and checking and re-checking the shirt is becoming a reality! Rowell's group has okayed the image use. Layton has agreed a shirt should be done and has approved the use of his signature, so we are good to go. (Who was it that said I do things without asking permission and making sure people are okay with what I do? Hmmm...)

Anyway, designs are on my desktop and later today we will have a LAYTON KOR COMMEMORATIVE T-SHIRT!

Kyle'd be pleased that you appreciate the linneage, crunch.

Spoke to Layton twice yesterday. He is feeling better by the day.
He was a bit uncomfortable with the T shirt idea, but I told him that he was giving something of value, both image and signature, and that why should the doctors get all the money.

Package arrived with extra goodies. The big tri cam is just what I had been needing for those pesky solution pockets at Pinnacles where the cobblestones used to be embedded in the wall.

thx Ron for making it work for everyone!

Meanwhile, how much and what kind of equipment do you still have left?

Did anyone take the bongs or are they still looking at becoming wind chimes?

Package arrived with a number of extra of goodies - Santa Ron was super-generous... Items included a handmade copperhead made by Kyle (a work of art), an old (1st gen?) friend to add to our old/handmade cam collection, and a Longware Angle.

The Peck crackers have already been re-slung and stuffed in various pockets at the Gunks. I can only wonder where their old escapades took them, i'm honored to be their next owner, and to help out Kor a bit.

I must ask, Ron, do you know the former owners of some of the marked gear? I know KC is Kyle's, but I also found PLS/PS (Paul ...?) and FK stamped on other pieces.

So I'm going through today's mail. Advertisement after advertisement; bills to pay, okay. Then a card? WTF? I look in the upper left corner of the envelope and see the addy is from an L. Kor.

A thank you card from Layton. Whoa!! That is class. I've never been a celebrity worshiper (think most are overrated), but I appreciate the commitment of the hard core of climbing over the generations.

Thanks Layton!

Sad to say but LK has not been up to snuff. The goods news is that he is on the mend.
Normally an outstanding correspondent, he has missed a few steps, but I'm glad to hear that you heard from him.
I spoke to him this evening and he is totally stoked to see some new rocks next month.

I'll post what's left shortly.

Bump to say Thank You for the card Layton. And thank Ron for all the fine swag I got in the post bos yesterday.

Oh My God. A hollow biner, pins, enough brass wires to hurt myself with. Stamped and not, historical pieces that are already in a case, not on the rack as intended. WOW.

You'll be amazed at just how fast you can lower off that hollow biner with a sandy rope.

Just kidding, DON'T DO IT.
(I think I labeled it)

Spoke to Layton friday night.
He's slowly getting stronger and we're starting to think about getting him a new fistula in Denver.
For now things are paid off, so I'm going to hold off on the auction a bit. People are tapped out and a bit on "charity overload".
I'll start a new thread for a further gear auction, and someone else will likely run an auction for signed Rowell prints of Layton topping out on the Salathe.

I want to say that some of you people are really quite sterling, often squeezing up donations without any expectation of a profitable exchange. Good on ya.
