i admire the people whom author their own eternities. like steve, up there kneeling against the mountain in the humble worship position.

i will forever own my eternity. because this itty-bitty moment is It's
very heart.

steve is blessed up there, despite the hardship and enlightened fear that surely he is surmounting.

to my kids: "please don't surrender your eternity to some cultural whim based upon fear of the ignorant nature.

look past the fools whom are screaming at you to join their lonely path, and begging of you biggotted judgement against those whom author their own magnifcence.

in that way, be like steve."

edit:
its ironic that he is on a route called genesis, put up by a fundamentalist sunday-trucker.

Spoke with Steve this afternoon. He has one more pitch fixed and rapped back down to EC Towers to bivy tonight. Plans to blast tomorrow and do a push to the top. I know his original plan was to rap the Nasal Passage, but he seems to think he's got it dialed enough to rap Genesis back to EC Towers. As someone else posted, groveling down in the snow is in the end more work than rapping, and especially since, other than his rack, all the rest of his kit is at EC Towers.

Weather looks good - PSYCHHHH!!

Paul

EDIT: I meant to say that he's taking a rest day tomorrow and will do a push on Friday.

Sounds like he's doing well. The weather is pretty cooperative too, if not a bit cold.

Do it!

Your daily blow-by-blow ascent in progress report:)

Steve called about 9pm last night (CA time). He had just made it back down to EC towers after leading and cleaning the final two A4 pitches on Genesis. He sounded tired but PSYCHED to have the hardest climbing behind him!!!!

Rest day today.

Anyway, he's got one more A3 pitch before joining the WoEML. Two pitches then to the killer ledge at the base of the Reticent crux, then two more pitches to the top.

So, long day tomorrow as he does a push to the top and then starts rapping the route back to "base camp" at EC Towers.

Weather looks like it should continueto be good!!
