Ammon's in court this morning in Yos. Anyone there? Outcome? I know Ansel Evans just rolled in for the season, I think he'll be there.

Climbers who openly flaunt rules and then cry foul do no good for climbing in general. Grownups take their punishment and move on.
The word is flout, not flaunt.

From the production notes on Cool Hand Luke;
The set for the chain gang camp was north of Stockton, CA and a ton of moss was shipped in bales from Louisiana as set dressing.
After building the set , but before the crew arrived, a San Joaquin County building inspector happened upon it and, thinking it a new migrant worker camp, promptly condemned it and posted notices.
The scene with the convicts sanding the asphalt actually had the actors blacktopping a mile of road for the county.

... actually, it works either way.
No it doesn't. The word openly is redundant if flaunt were intended. Flaunt doesn't really work for other reasons, but the above is enough to end the discussion.
Thanks so much for your correction- another ray of brilliance from Boulder.
It sounds like you want to engage in some sarcastic whining, so you'd fit in Boulder well.
Some people like to read and right in English--you're apparently not one of them, but that doesn't mean you speak for the group.

And some people spell correctly...am I right? Or am I write?

I just want Ammon to get legal fairness. Hear, hear!
Whatever happened, and whether or not base jumping should be legalized in Yosemite, and whether or not climbers have a similar interest to basejumpers in this, pretty much all of us want to see that Ammon gets a fair shake in the legal system.

At least I won't start arguing that it makes sense either way (RJ) or complaining that you had the audacity to try to improve the English used on this site (Donini).
Anyway, I was just trying to correct a common word choice error (flout/flaunt) and thereby improve the literacy of SuperTopoians. If you want to correct simple typos, seems like a waste of time, but no skin off my back.

I guess even Fattrad is having a tough time with the cold, hard realism of the legal system. How many years to you have vested in the “system”?
I said it before that you need to read my posts like it was Ben Stein giving you a lesson. I should charge my regular rate on this site.
Too much emotion has clouded the realism of this story.
Ammon is in a tough spot. I doubt that most people here will see the final disposition of this case as “fair”. There is a lot stacked against him.
A lot of you should be super bummed that Ammon has lied to himself and all the people that care about him. A true friend would help him. Not with just wishing the best in court or crying that the cops suck but by helping him with the causes of his troubles.

Anyone know if he needs a plastic Jesus?
