It turns out the bank number I had isn't the right one (it was her ATM number, not her account number) - i'm working on getting the right numbers and should have by end of day or tomorrow.

I'm going to wait for her visitors to come back this afternoon, so they can help figure it out -- since she is layed up (obviously), has no access to her papers, and I don't speak Japanese, it will be easier for them to deal with it in person.

Thank you so much to the 2 people who emailed me to help.

I hope this isn't annoying everyone, but it REALLY is going to help her out.

People with spinal cord injury can die from things like urinary tract infections, pressure sores and autonomic dysreflexia. Regular hospitals sometimes don't understand these issues. The faster she gets into a rehab program, the better.

Recovery from SCI is not a matter of weeks or months, but years. It's hard physical work.

People with SCI's used to be dumped into nursing homes to rot instead of being taught to live independently. That's another value of rehab.

Bump back to the first page. valygrl, let me know when you get the details sorted out so I can help. I never met Tacos but her smile is amazing. I'm headed to the east side for a few days but will follow up when I get back with a contribution. God, her smile is contagious! That is what it is all about.

Another Facebook friend update for those who don't have it, from a friend Nicole:

"Hey everyone this is nicole, a friend of Tacos. I was just visiting her in the hospital and she wanted me to let everyone know that her spirits are still strong and she is very hopeful for a full recovery. She is going back to japan on july 7th. Her concerns right now are financial for her and her family, if anyone can think of a way to help she would be more than grateful."

And from Cara (even though I think Valygrl already settled the paypal issue here):
"Hey Everybody, Tacos and I just set up a PayPal account for her to receive donations. I believe all you need is her email address which is: satoko_715@hotmail.com. She is sooo happy to be heading home. Things are looking better everyday!"

Hello all,

I live here in Casper, WY and met Tacos a few years ago in Squamish. I just wanted to let you all know that I went and saw her today and printed off all of your comments for her to read. She seems in very high spirits. I am going to go to the climbing shop and gym here and let them know about the paypal account set up for her as well. Hopefully that will generate some help.

Hi everyone, we now have the details for the
Bank of Montreal that can be used for either a wire transfer or if there is a Bank of Montreal near you, you can walk in and make a deposit to help Tacos out.

Please contact me directly if you wish to do this, and I'll give you the information on how to do it.

I'm still working on similar details for Tacos' US bank, so please keep checking back. Since Friday is a bank holiday, it won't be until monday at the earliest.

Thank you so much!

Hello again,

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Peak Climbing Gym here in Casper is going to donate all of their day pass and membership money until Tuesday to Tacos. They will be closed over the weekend but if anyone's in the area early next week you should go in and go climb! Dustin, the owner, made this awesome offer so a BIG THANKS to him!

hey there stacy...

oh my, this wonderful... if all these neat "steppingstones" are coming her way, we must keep pressing on for the best for her, in our hopes and our prayers and whatever we can share...

now lets hope and pray for a big crowd, as well...

edit: is he allowed to advertise for this, too... like in the local paper, etc...? just curious... as it is for the cause of helping another that is in great need...

StacyH, that is wonderful!!!

I now have the Wells Fargo information for those in the United States wishing to make a donation without using Paypal.

It's very easy if you have a Wells Fargo branch in town, just go in there and give them the account number and hand them a check or cash.

And best of all Wells Fargo IS OPEN TOMORROW, FRIDAY JULY 3rd.

Email me and I'll give you the account number. I've received several emails from folks already, so the email is working, but if it doesn't post here and I'll find you.

If you don't have a Wells Fargo in your town, tell me that, and you can wire transfer money, there are some other numbers you need and I have those too.

THANK YOU!!!!
