They're not for everyone. One time we went over to my moms on a Sunday to say hi and eat. The dogs tails went up and their noses hit the ground as soon as they hit the living room and they went tracking back and forth till they settled on working the fireplace area. They stayed there for some time....moms in the kitchen working. I say "whats up" ? She says, "not much, saw a mouse last Wednesday but haven't seen it since". "Oh yeah?" I reply while watching the circus over by the fireplace (not having any wit that day apparently). "Yeah, I saw it run into the fireplace and haven't seen it since."
Hmmm.
One time Hank and I were walking on a field and he stopped and stuck his nose into a hole. He started up making a snorting sound. Then he runs over 10 feet and finds and does it to another hole. This goes on for @ 10 min, and I'm watching this act. He'd only pause and c*#k his head periodically to listen to the hole. Finally a mouse pops up out of the hole Hank wasn't snorting in AND TRIES TO MAKE A RUN AT IT IN THE OPEN FIELD! Wham, Crunch.
Never seen anything quite like it. They crunch squirrels too, which can be embarrassing if you are at the park free running them (you can do that in some parks here).
Socially though, they're more akin to cats than dogs:-( Very self centered. I never take them climbing or anywhere unleashed on hikes cause if they see something, they're gone until they either kill it or are bone tired exhausted. You might not see them, Hank more than Sadie, for hours and hours.

We've, as a tradition, had a long line of Wire Hair Fox Terriers in my family. Toss in a Smooth here and there and and Rat Terrier next door, I'm ready.
Best and bloodiest fight I've seen was one of our wire hairs getting busy with a king sized possum. UNHOLY!!!!!1111666

I had a coworker who owned a JRT, as do my inlaws, and I have found them generally to be quite intelligent and quirky, but way too high-maintenance for my tastes.
A few years ago, I inherited my sister's dog- a Rat Terrier, the cousin of JRT's. About the same size, much, much mellower, just as intelligent, and one of the sweetest pups I've ever seen. I thought she was kind of a princess-pooch when my sister owned her (she kind of is, actually), but she is truly a great dog.

thanks for the typo catch Russ...
I suck at proof reading and I am not involved with the day-to-day operations of the creative planet, It is one of many start ups I am involved with.

And answer these questions, jpt: Do you get paid, or receive any kind of benefit whatsoever for the posts that you create on ST? Do you do so as an employee, subcontractor, or similar for a political action committee or group?

all right, I ain't usin' a second to read any of those eighty posts, I'm just answering the OP -
I hope so, and I hope every other dollar the GOP spends over the next 18 months is equally as effective.
But probably not, just a troll with a poor sense of humor, and I will admit to having been trolled once....maybe twice.

I sympathize with our right wing brother complaining now that their henchmen are out of power.
We had 8 years of being on the other side. It sucked and we posted about it. Now it's their turn.
Let's just google of their posts from the past eight years calling the Dems the party of Whiners and complainers now that the shoe is on the other foot.
But I don't blame em. I suggest pacing yourself.

JPT- you are not a plant? Do you you see why I think you are? You never talk climbing.
Not ever, not once. All you ever talk about is the grassroots party line. The party line that gets floated in the background for drudge, and rush before it goes on fox. The buzz creator.
Repubs aren't the only people that do this. We get spun anytime we read/listen to the media. That's what a forum is, the media. A new media, but the media, so why wouldn't we get spun here?
Eldo huh? That's in Colorado. Did you know that?
Or perhaps you are a climber of sorts, but responded to an add to come work for one of these "grassroots" organizations.
Ryan Graef, what other forums do you post on?
E-mail me, I'd love to talk to you.
I'm a reporter for the local news in Bishop. I'd love to do a story on how this works.
As much as I am mad that you tried to spin us here, I'm not mad that you tried. It actually makes alot of sense. I'm actually really fascinated by how this process works. I'm an information guy. I realize how easy it would be to inject my opinion into a story that I write. I do my best to just present the facts, but there is no true objectivity when it comes to reporting. It's very east to be slanted.
The truth is ever elusive, so it's easy to get spun in search of it.

Seriously.
First, Ryan Graef is one of my business partners,
I would appreciate it if you all quit publishing his name on this forum. That is bad form
Second, No sh#t Eldo is in Colorado - that is where I live.
Third, Whatever
Edit: I have posted skiing and climbing info when people have been asking about Colorado conditions, I guess you missed those...

I think JPT stepped up to the plate just fine when we asked him in a previous thread about who he was.
Want to bag on his views? Fair game, but it's not like he has hidden himself. This thread ought to drift to Atlantis

Now it's all clear to me. The darn Boulder left wing liberals sometimes drive me towards the right. You guys really need to lighten up on jpt, as being a right-winger living in Boulder would be maddening. jpt: I'm an Obama supporter but I "feel your pain".
And would you guys please stop discussing the dog. My first thought when I saw the original picture was that he looks like a meth-head.

Karl I missed that explanation, and rather then bother you for a link I searched for it but couldn't find it.
Do know where it's located?
If he is really a climber interested in talking politics, and not a political hack who may or may not climb, then fine. Let him in.
I'm not anti right winger, I'm anti republican spin machine. It's very effective, and does the world a disservice. He has a tendency to drop the daily talking points, and then leaving. It appears to be very subtle marketing.
Don't we all now know what these tea parties are? Whether JPT is directly involved, or he gets the stuff from someone who is, you hand it to them, it's effective.
