Several people have posited that just passing through is paid by some political action committee (or similar) to spray his clearly conservative/GOP positions on a regular basis here on ST. Yes, he has answered the call of 'who are you?', and says that he is a climber, but rarely, if ever posts to climbing related threads.

His political threads, however, are prolific and of late, occur on a nearly daily basis. What do you think? Is jpt a GOP plant? If so, what kind of plant is he?

FACT:
The GOP is actively mining the SuperTopo since it is such a fertile ground and its inhabitants are so easy to change. Look at all the converts he/she has already.

At this rate, the entire forum will be converted by 2360 A.D.

I was just going to say that as an impartial observer it seems to me there is a decidedly undemocratic bias here against our more conservative members expressing their views. Someone with an inclination to psychology might interpret this as a touch of insecurity at best or liberal demagoguery at worst.

"there is a decidedly undemocratic bias here against our more conservative members expressing their views"

Do the conservatives really have to start multiple threads a day for politics? That's what's lame, not that they are stating their views.

Many climbers are outdoorsy, leave no trace, conservationsists, so there are going to be more on the left. If people on the right come into a environment where they are outnumbered and talk politics of course they're going to get a lot of opposition. Nobody has stopped them from expressing their views.

The whole victim mentality of the right is pretty funny. The media has a liberal bias. Education has a liberal bias. Reality has a liberal bias, wah, wah, wah. With the Democrats in power it's gone to a whole 'nother level. Karma payback for 8 years of putting Bush in power, LOL.

I kind of think of jpt as a cactus. A dead cactus.
Limp, dried up, but still prickly.

This article is not fair and balanced, but with a sanity filter turned on, it does bring up some good points.

Okay I stand corrected, I guess. But you are definitely an internet marketer.

Does this forum method work?

JPT- Why not post on a climbing thread? Even once, I'd be more inclined to read your posts.

JPT: at least use the correct "there" on your page title. It is the first thing the populous will see.

Russ, that's the first thing I noticed, too, but you have more initiative than I do to let jpt know.

Yes, jpt has probably climbed, and might be loosely termed a 'climber', but his agenda on ST is anything BUT climbing.

I just don't want any of the SuperTopo political "entertainment_combatants" to look sutpid, regardless of their orientation. It reflects bad on the forum.

You know, so far I don't stand corrected. I take that back.

He runs an internet marketing site and is accused of savvy internet marketing.

I'd like a bit more evidence. Actually, at this point I'd really like some information on how this type of marketing works.

Do you get paid to post, is it by the post, by the number of comments.

Do you simply charge for the service and use the post numbers and response numbers to justify your fee?

Is JPT actually ideological or is this strictly business-

"astroturfing" is what they call it. Planting seeds.

If it pays, I might be down for something like this. Work from home!

Don't you get paid for advertisements depending upon the clicks your site gets.

So far, jpt has not responded to any of these claims- come on, jpt, do you receive any kind of payment, business, or organized political advantage by your prolific posting of political threads?

If people would post more Fish products pictures they would look much more intelligent. As I don't have any on hand I'll toss in this gratuitous piton pic or 2 ...just to move the discussion along....

Lets talk Leeper products. 47 Z-pins, Z-chocks and little Z-nailers.

Some angles and bongs.

I started out going to oil up some picks for the light Forrest tools for Joseph and this organically just happened. Carry on.
