The term for that is "strong arm robbery".

mang MM, sorry to hear about that. I've got a long winded theory of core inflation that paints a grim picture of such stuff but it'd be correlation without causation. Stay safe, keep Minerals near.

I was talking to someone once, who told me of a robbery he succumbed to while ha was living here at the time. (Ah! Now I remember who, but won't say the name. He occassionally posts here, and maybe will come on and fix any facts I've mixed up.)
He was living on the Upper West Side and rode his bike(a very nice one) out to the 79th Street Boat Basin. Stopped and was traversing on some rockwork wall out there and a nicely dressed, extremely fit, yuppie-esque black guy comes strolling along. The guy stops and talks with him a while, asks him what's he doing and such...
Then the guy eyes the bike admiringly and they talk about that. Apparently it was a specialized bike. Then the guy goes up, and gets ON the bike and begins to head off. The bike owner tries to stop him and the dude turns and - I can't remember just HOW he let him know that would be a mistake, but in the original story, it was quite evident and the robber was very effective in convincing him.
jesus! Some criminals just have their game down, don't they1?

Mark:
That guy probably has no idea how close he came to meeting his maker.
Hope you got all the cards cancelled in time, etc.

Howdy E., Yeah I think all the cards are cancelled and we have different cards on most accounts. Last night I go to Raleys to buy some PBR and I whip out my card slide it through the machine and Bamm! Not accepted it was the one account where both cards had the same number, Fortunately I had some cash in the truck and the PBR was still purchased, close call man....
