yes cintune - Andy and Dali would've freaked out on digital - been a Warhol fan my whole life. Read a number of books on his work, the one I liked the best was (I think) done by the New York Metropolitan Museum of (Modern?) Art - a large volume hardcopy.
The summation of his work - exceptionally contemporanious and inevitable - hits the nail on the head.
Hey, remember that Peter Beard portrait of Andy sitting there, there's a skull and pack of Marlboros painted red in it too - I believe - a good one.
Someone needs to Photoshop a big LCD display in front of Andy w/ Photoshop running - I think it would be funny - "Andy Comes Back To Download Photoshop"
Cheers!

hey L,
thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it. The building was supposed to be the beginning of a series of recognizable or cool buildings here in Boulder - the building in that piece used to be a Buddhist temple - however, my attention has been diverted to more justifiable commercial interests - oh well.
Fun networking.

Boy Raydog...I think you'd make a killing off of stuff like that now. Don't suppose you sell copies of the buddha building, do you?
Locker.......what are we going to do with you? Hmmmm?

Thanks L,
I don't know anything about selling art but the process of taking a decent image and importing it into Illustrator is a fun one. Once the thing is an Illustrator file it can, of course, be scaled way huge - like mega giant.
I appreciate your opinion and will keep an open mind.
If you want a copy I can burn one on CD for you.
Ray :)

Nice. What's the story on that one?
(I can't decide whether Warhol would've been a Mac or PC kind of guy.... but he probably would have let someone else decide anyway. The thing I love most about him was his absurdist sense of humor about anything and everything. Got picked to do the World's Fair, so he decides on a self-portrait. That was brilliant. Never got to meet him, unfortunately, but ran into some of his protege studio techs at ArtExpo once in the early 80s.)

hey cintune - the one you asked about is from a snapshot I took in Hong Kong (Kowloon actually) I mixed Streamline 4.0 and some hand drawn stuff (sky, car details) in Illustrator 10 and had some fun.
Man, I could go on and on about Warhol, how 'bout him being a paid runway model!? Hey, have you ever checked out Peter Beard's 50 Years of Portraits (a misnomer) - I'll put him up there with the big guns in art for sure.

Since I was a kid I have always loved Dali's Tigers so, I spent a few days drawing them. Starting with Streamline for the blacks, and much editing to separate them, then fill in the details. In Dali's world the big cats were, of course, a metaphor for desire.

can anyone name the native painting this derived from?

Watusi--I love the colors you use! I'm so into the brilliant and contrasting tones, on top of finding your dramatic schemes simply amazing.
Between you and Raydog, I'm in visual heaven right now!
