Thanks for the feedback everyone. Regardless of what I buy, since my current bike is a 20 yr. old hardtail, anything with some upgrades is going to feel awesome, whether it be a 26 or 29. Given how infrequently I upgrade though, I am somewhat leery of buying a dinosaur.

Yes. I love mine. I ride with guys on 26's and I seem to really out-do them on technical climbing and long sections of rock gardens.
Never going back.

Nice Sketchy.
I am riding a 26 Blur LTc right now, and don't seem to be giving too much away to the 29er crowd, especially in climbing and tight single track. They do seem hold momentum better and roll of over bumps smoother, but seems like more of an advantage for rigid SS's and hardtails. Nice job on the SS T2!
They have a demo days down at Lake Hodges, so I suppose I have to try the wagon wheels one of these days. I've got a few friends that have switched, and some that haven't.
Anything that gets you out on the trail is good in my book.
I am holding out for the 89er

29ers seem to really smooth out the trails over the long haul, but dont seem as nimble. Ride over the rocky stuff much better. I went from a super lite hardtail to a full suspension 29er and you do feel the weight on the steep stuff it seems to me.

Nice Blur Randy! Let's get out and ride sometime!
I have a 29er hard tail Stump Jumper. It's a little too much wheel for the steep technical trails. I'm thinking of trying a set of 650b wheels on it.

There is some decent riding in the area between Vancouver and Whistler
(Ghost, you cracked me up with that one.)
Just got back from Whistler a couple of weeks ago and saw not one 29er in the bike park. Outside the park, it was another story. In Oregon saw mostly 29ers (McKenzie Trail and the dust bowl they call Bend.)

I just bought a Trek (Gary Fisher) Superfly FS 100 AL. I love the ride but I'm still adjusting to the expanded geometry as well as the grabby brakes. As noted previously on this thread, it's awesome for climbing and long downhills. I did a single track descent yesterday and noticed the general lack of dexterity the longer wheels and wheel base make for. I'm not complaining, I love the ride, just getting used to how it handles.
