Jeez this is why I haven't been paying much attention lately... but just to show I got Jody's back (I promised him when he first got here) I'll add some comment. BTW, if you disagree I don’t care.
TrevorJ said: "If we want peace in the Middle East, the big question is how do we stop the Arabs and Isreli's killing each other?"
I'll wager that if the Islamic Jihad types stopped killing so would the Israelis. And America wouldn’t be at war and neither would India, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and... Don’t you get it? There are enemies out there and talking about it won’t make them go away. The enemies are not Arabs or Muslims, they are the insane, power-hungry, soulless characters who hijack religions to brain-wash their minions and (like all fanatics) are dangerous to the rest of us. And to keep them in check GW has chosen to kick there butts in public. I support his decisions and quite frankly couldn’t give a rats ass if you do or don’t.
I was on a pilgrimage to The Valley this past week and got into a small tussle with an dude from Down Under about "American Arrogance". Both of us quickly set our differences aside and talked about the differences between hard aid ratings instead. It was a lot more constructive and we toasted with a King Cobra, or at least I did. Actually I didn’t add much to the conversation since I haven't done anything harder than C3, but I at least helped him get a good idea of what to expect up on El Cap. He shared some photos, he talked about Mt. Cook and some other cool stuff about climbing in New Zealand. We were up till 2 AM chatting. Now that was a worth while conversation.
I left the next morning knowing that I wouldn’t be back till mid summer. War or no war I’m going to be heart broken till then. I'm already thinking of pulling knobs on some sweet Tuolumne granite. The pro will be good and the friction even better. And you know I'm gonna be free soloing Tenaya and Cathedral peaks so go get your cameras! I'll be sure to let you all know when I'll be showing off.
Climb on!

with nothing interesting on this forum lately, i thought i'd dredge up an old favorite...
say, can we get this guy kissing the prez to spread some of the love around falluja? or sadr city?
i honestly recall clearly listening on NPR to the republicans in the house of reps. debating the approval of bush's blanket authority, they were speculating in open session that the people of iraq would be welcoming us w/ flowers in the streets.
remember that our troops were gonna be handing out candy and food packets to the kids in the streets? maybe we coulda seen all this coming when they all though the american candy was poison...
bunch-a filthy rich white guys from the south w/ no cultural perspective whatsoever.
it will get a lot worse before it gets any better.
and if it weren't for all the 80-something supreme court justices, i'd almost rather see bush get re-elected, just so he can be stuck w/ the mess he made over there.
that's as f*#ked up place to be as there ever was for an american soldier (not that gW would know too much about that)

Matt, in order to retaliate to terrorists who crashed planes into our nice buildings (terrorists who were mostly Saudi and admittedly already dead), we decided to occupy Iraq, the Arabic Yugoslavia. And we had to get rid of the mustard gas. Pay attention, dude.
Bush is the best prez since Polk.

hmmmm, looks like when you light up a mosque with a few missles it doesn't go over well with the locals. What's really making this a mess is Sunnis and Shites both fighting our troops. I say bail while we can (it's not like there's no precedent or anything) because this thing is going to blow wide open me thinks
Yo...good analogy, except Polk only took the western US, not a foreign country. How about the Spanish-American War, now that was one for the imperialist, manifest destiny folks to crow over. To bad we didn't learn from past mistakes eh?

"Neoconservative" is a fancy way of saying "warmonger." It makes the right-wing lunatics feel "compassionate," which they are not.

Bad S#it goin' down over there bro. Lotta people diein', some of my compadres as well. I don't like it, we're in it, let's kick some A$$. I didn't like getting into this mess in the first place, but when my beloved USMC is under attack, that pisses me off, hell some of my old buddy's might be getting killed off. That's messed up, BIG TIME..... Thanks George.
At this point, I don't think it makes a bit of difference, because they HATE US. THEY WANT TO KILL US. And given the chance, I'm sure they will. If someone came to the USA and took over, pushing their way of life on us, wouldn't it piss you off??? I know I'd be ready to fight.
Personally, I could give a flying F&*K less who's running that country, but by god, don't be startin' no trouble, or we'll mess you up pal..... Our Marines are the best in the world and will prevail, but this whole thing sucks because of REAL PEOPLE DIEING every day.
By the way, who in the hell gave the US of A permission to go take another country over in the first place. AHHHHH, that's right, Bush Jr. has presidential authourity to deploy troups without congress declaring a war.... Well, a fine mess you've gotton us into there buddy, got any ideas on how to fix it up, or are we just gonna leave it like it is? OH and what about those WMD? Yeah right. And to beleive that many Americans bought into it. What the Hell is wrong with you people?
What an ignorant, arrogant, hypocrite Bush is.... besides that, his feet don't match and his heart pumps s#it.
My opinion, and if you don't like it, I couldn't care less.

It is so hilarious to watch a bunch of whiney liberals pee all over each other. You guys are pathetic...Bush is a great leader and is doing a pretty darn good job under the circumstances. He said he was going after anybody that supports terrorism and he is keeping his promise. There is a difference between voicing opinions and giving comfort and encouragement to the enemy like the hateful democrats are doing now. The constant harping on Bush and such is giving the scums in Iraq encouragement in their attacks.

....and Jessica Lynch is declared a war Hero when she is wounded in a bold firefight, going down after taking out many Iraqi soldiers with her duel automatic weapons blazing (picture one in each hand).....or was it a car accident? PROPAGANDA! Jody, you are so gullible. No wonder you're conservative and a tool. Yes, it brought tears to my eyes also, but for a different reason.

"He said he was going after anybody that supports terrorism and he is keeping his promise."
He said he was going in to rid the world of WMDs. When no WMDs were found, he said we were making Iraq safe for democracy. The links between Al Qaeda and Hussein were tenuous. Iraq was never like Afghanistan. Now, Al Qaeda does have a strong presence in Iraq. Thanks Mr. President. So why did we go to war again?
"There is a difference between voicing opinions and giving comfort and encouragement to the enemy like the hateful democrats are doing now."
More typical horseshitt from a right-wing warmonger who thinks his policy is the best. This is what they do: call the other side traitors and stymie dissent.

Jody, I respect your right to your opinion, but to call GWB a great leader is to ignore what is coming out about his administration. The problem with lock-step conservatives like yourself is their distinct inability to look in the mirror and see what's looking back at you. I support our troops but I do not support what the current administration is doing with them in Iraq. Ole John Dean, who knows a thing or two about corrupt presidents and their lackys, was just quoted as saying this Bush administration is as corrupt and incompetent as he can remember. Give em enough rope and they will hang themselves, that's what I say

No knucklehead! The constant harping by liberal government leaders like Kennedy, Kerry, etc. You people are so simpleminded, you can't see past your blind hatred of a GREAT president.

history will be the judge, jody.
we will see if "occupation" leads to peaceful transition into western democratic values and freedoms, or if violence begets violence.

The Iraq situation is starting to look a lot like a little conflict the U.S. got involved in a few years back(viet nam!). If you remember we went there to liberate the opressed people.(that is bushes new arguement for being in Iraq is it not?)Bush is no great leader even if you agree with what he has done in Iraq no leader in recent history has done more to polorize the country than GWB. Instead of working toward bipartisan and international support like his father did in the first Iraq conflict, GWB has declared saddam the anti-christ and started his own little religious war. If people do not see the diservice the current administration has done to this country I guess we are all doomed. Hopefully clearer minds will prevail in this next election.

" If people do not see the diservice the current administration has done to this country I guess we are all doomed. Hopefully clearer minds will prevail in this next election. "
If your people had been in power we would be saying, "We are sorry for making you mad, please don't kill us" and would be running around with our tail between our legs. By Bush taking the fight to these murderers we are showing the world that you can't mess with us.
BTW, clearer minds prevailed in the last election.
You know what your problem is? (You pacifists). You are scared to death. You are mad that we have a president that doesn't take crap from anybody. You are just a bunch of weanies that think people will leave us alone if we are nice. Well rocket scientists, those people have been pissed at us forever, including the FIRST WTC attack on Clinton's watch(which he did nothing about), the Kobar towers(which he did nothing about), Mogadishu(which he did nothing about). You whiney pacifist liberals and your elected leaders are the biggest danger to the security of this country because you have no spine. THANK GOD WE HAVE GW AS PRESIDENT AND NOT AL GORE!

See, ya'll have to understand where that big thinker Jody comes from. While many believe anybody but bush is the right answer, Jody believes "anybody without bj's" is the right answer.
Rather one who lies so that we can "kick some righteous ass" (even if thousands die and Osama gets away because we're ignoring Afganistan as we're too busy creating another chaotic terr'st haven) than one who had three times the intelligence and 25% of the sexual repression of W. Give me bubba anyday.
Jody: bush sucks, you suck, you're both idiots.
