Rodger you really are a broken down old climber, with such a feeble
memory. We had a top-rope going, and I recall so visibly that you were
below, and your face was puffing almost pink with excitment, as I
glanced down from one move. I then arrived at the top alone, and I have
always written about it that way, that special moment by myself at
the top. No one ever belayed at the top, not with me anyway. Nor did we
shake hands, unless it was after I came back down. I wasn't pushed
that hard on the route, other than that little bit of fight you have
to give it on the first half. I am often amazed at how people change
their memories, not out of malice or for any reason other than just
that their minds revise things for some reason, or maybe a few years
passed without trying to remember, and then when the climb became
an apparently important one (we didn't know it at the time), the
person tries to piece together the memories. But I forgive
you your senility, haha...

I hope you keep your tongue in your cheek, Rodge, as I don't
mean to offend you, really, just funning, even though what I
say is accurate and true. What other climbs did we do together, other
than Supremacy and the Diagonal?

Really? I did it about 70 times and never encountered any, oh maybe a little pigeon stuff under the roof, but nothing that interferred with that great beautiful route...

haha, yes. I guess I was fit, belaying Bill Briggs, the time we
did all the 5.10's and 5.11's on Castle Rock in a day (all that existed to that time, six 5.11's, seven or eight 5.10's... a couple of 5.9's...).
We called it the Castle Rock marathon, though it wasn't that hard to do, really...
