I'm with you on this one. Working a snowcat again this winter. Usually 4-12:30 at night. Not too bad, but I'm all jacked up because of the bright lighting after my shift. I din't even work last night, but my schedule is messed up for the winter. I found it odd the first day I went up to the mountain; just seeing the snowcats my body just seemd to get wigged out knowing what the season would have iin store. Year number 17 as an operator, I guess it's used to it. Well you can sleep when you die they say.Good luck with your day Patrick. I'm a gonna do some shredding up at the mounain. I've finally given up hope for sleep and the coffee is brewing.

Nearly 4 a.m. here in the Islands, and I couldn't sleep either. Perfect posting to awaken to! I'm thinking about all the tasks I face as I contemplate leaving Hawaii and moving back to the Yosemite area. But I have an excitement about these prospects that I don't see reflected on your face in photos 1 and 3. What were you thinking at those times???
Great Photo #2! I always respected your climbing accomplishments and your writing subjects and abilities. While you and I never really connected personally, I did follow your "career" both on its own "merits" and thru my friendship with Long Ago with whom I climbed HD NWF (14th ascent, I think) and his writings.
I do hope you are well; I wish you the best and if you get to the Yosemite area after June 1st, please look me up.

Hi Pat,
Not much sleep for me either. House full of teenage girls, friends of my daughter Kyra, 15, were up most of the night.
Hey, I was just reading Master of Rock again, looking for a quote I remembered from Mr. Gill. Nice job on that book! Thanks again.

That's actually Gill in the photo on Acrobat Overhang. I'm sure I
wasn't that relaxed. It's a pretty hard move there, if you do it
statically, as was the challenge. Someone who can make a big lunge
can eliminate one hard move...
Thanks for the good words. The house smells of burnt metal. I turned
the stove on to cook some soup but turned on the wrong burner, so the
lid of the pan was lying over the burner that was on, and I didn't see it...only finally smelled the metal lid... man, I'm really screwing up here.

I wish I could find one of those late nineteenth century ads for heroin and how "it cures the malaise of sleepless nights".
I've burned a few lids however,..
(we're probably not on the same page though)

Along with Skully I hope you rest well tonight, along with any other tacoheads having the same problem.
I enjoy reading the Psalms. The 4th one says "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone make me dwell in safety." My prayer for yo tonight. And like my Mommy used to say to me, "sweet dreams." :D Ciao

Oddly enough I got 4-5 hours of undisturbed sleep last night; usually on 2 or 3. Sleeplessness runs in my families genetic code.
