But there CUD be more here. Like a sick stalker. If Kath felt that outing the dude and getting him banned would put an end to this, I think she would have done it a long time ago. She knows the guy and is afraid. Fearful in the real world. You know, the one that matters. She's being hassled by a psycho.

That's the problem, in a nutshell. Even if he's banned, under his present identity, it's all too easy to assume a new one. Or not get a new identity, but simply lurk and pry. He may already have EKat's e-mail and/or number, to harass her, although using either produces evidence.
Cyber-stalking isn't the easiest crime to prove, particularly when the parties live at a distance. The police probably find it easier to bring charges when there's actual contact.
It says a lot about our society that someone as robust and stable as EKat is reluctant to raise this issue, and that it's difficult to do something about it. If anyone else is having similar problems, I encourage you to keep all messages and e-mails, inform SuperTopo management, and report it to the police, both where you live and where the stalker lives.

Something that no one seems to have mentioned yet (unless I missed it), is that Supertopo is, and has always been, an unmoderated forum. I doubt that the owner feels very happy when a bunch of emotional retards get out of control and start flinging poo, but he lives with it.
So, if you (or I, or anyone) are unwilling to expose yourself to the possibility that some of the poo will be flung at you, you should not be here. That's not to say that insults and shouts and other forms of forum nastiness are okay, just that it's part of the deal on unmoderated sites. There are plenty of sites with stringent rules and moderators to enforce the rules. Spend your time there if you don't like it here.
And finally, when someone does fling some poo at you, maybe the first thing to do isn't to fire back, or go running to mommy, but to ask yourself "Why did that happen?" Most times the answer is in the mirror.

1. Don't say anything to someone on SuperTopo that you wouldn't say to that person's face, around a campfire.
2. Post as you would be posted to.
3. Think twice, post once. In some cases, think thrice, or more.
4. It's not our playpen, it's CMac's.
5. If you want to promote nonsense, do it somewhere else.
6. Don't quote without providing a link, be aware of copyright issues, and wherever possible post a summary only, with link.
Other suggestions?

Yes - I've watched his attention-getting editing and hinting with dismay. As you say, hard to know what to do. My personal belief is that sunshine is the best disinfectant, but I can understand other perspectives.
Mind you, the writer you refer to became rather a weirdo in his old age.
(atch: I've been watching this guy's posts and posting tactics for more than a year, and they contain numerous directed hints and innuendo.)

am hoping that this is not about me
I dont like being stigmatised as some sort of creep. that is because, without formal training, i engage in such boyscouter activities as anti suicide
cooking and driving for the enfeebled ... ... sit and add support to those troubled by "voices"
and go escort every other weekend to a friends tense child custody exchange with Her Xhubb whom is ex-military and twice my age... not my favorite scene ( my previous thing, before i left oregon)
even take in gettin beat up on when they occasionally go violent on me
certainly i push enough egotism to float a zeppelin sometimes, this is in compensation for being stepped on real heavily at an early age. this is done with no unkindly sentiments put forth
