Nice getting pro deals, otherwise too pricey.

But my fleece pullover is going on 36 years and is in good shape and still sees regular use.

While I do still have and regularly wear an expedition weight capeline pullover, I would never wear it out and have probably worn out another 10 fleece tops in that time. I don't know how people make a piece of clothing last for 30 years if they wear it regularly.

You clearly haven't worn the Nano Air Hoody.

It has a wider temperature range than any other jacket I've had, plus breathes super well. My partner had one for a few years and finally bought one for me. I didn't think I needed it and its now my favorite jacket of all time.

^^^^. Yup agree.

However, I recently bought a pair of mittens directly from Patagonia.
Considering their “eco” friendliness I was taken aback with how much plastic bag and paper materials were in the packaging. Yes, they said recycle, reuse, repurpose etc but my initial thought was why so much packaging for a lil pair of mittens. In a store they’re not all bundled up like that.

Another first world problem that I even bought the mitten$ from Patagonia.

The rugby shirt market is clearly underserved at the moment!

I like a nano-puff jacket I got about 8-10 years back, but I learned I have to treat it gently. The first day I wore it was on a climb in Yosemite. Had it packed in it's own pocket on a sling at my waist (as it is designed to do). Ripped a hole in it while squeezing between a tree and a rock face somewhere partway up Middle Cathedral Rock.

Is that considered normal wear and tear- climbs with squeezes? Or is that unreasonable and only sport climbs are included in normal wear and tear?

Bought a mid-weight capiline zip-t back in 2007, and it is by far the best made base layer I've ever owned, but as a tall guy, the arms are too phreakin' short. I don't know if they've changed this over the years. I still use it and have no plans to throw it out. Then again, I've had a low cost Sierra Traders top for even longer.

Guido,

In case I never told ya, I once had a psuedo-Patagonia logo tag made up with the intentional misspelling: "Patagonad". Had it sewn on a windbreaker. Nobody ever noticed.

Don,

This might not go unnoticed as easily.

I got an XL Patagonia Men's Tin Shed Jacket for Christmas, and it was so big I returned it for a large! I haven't bought anything but XL for years! Either it's made for fat cats or they want us to feel lean and mean, I'll take the latter! Nice jacket though!
