I spoke with the someone at the ranger station yesterday by phone who said Horse Flats is open and the road to Mt. Pacifico is slated to reopen by mid May. The Pacifico road has been closed since the Station Fire. He said if all goes according to plan the road will be open by mid May but you know how that goes. It would be nice to get back up to Pacifico after all these years.

Horse Flats has been open for about a month now. It has been nice up there, but now the biting flies are out, so bring some repellant if you go anywhere up there. The last Station Fire closure is set to expire on 5/25, so hopefully Pacifico will open then...as well as Strawberry Peak.

Nice! I went there last week on like wednesday and I chopped the lock to get in at the gate. Then there were some signs blocking the road that said closed due to fire hazard so we moved them to the side infront of bandito camp ground.

Chopping a Ranger lock and moving Ranger signs..then posting about it...thanks for making climbers look good.

I found this picture of me leading the Ant Line at Horse Flats today. I remember being stoked to try out my new Friends.

Yeah Ant Line....did something break?

The Dr. F. guide says 11+, so that means 11d?
I can't do it, even with a top rope :(

"How's the poodle brush?" There's a bunch on the hike in, but it's easily avoidable.

11d sounds steep, I dont remember it being too difficult but I was 20+ lbs lighter back then and a climbing GOD.
