Simon - There were actually a couple comments on the shirt from a few monkeys in the campground. I directed them to search for you here on supertopo if they were interested. Something I realized is that the website address is kinda hard to remember or spell (for someone who knows you only by reputation from here or by rumor of your shirt business) so I was unable to easily tell these guys how to find your shirts for sale online. I tried to search google for "Bat Shirt" and various combinations but found it difficult to find your website. Directing someone to come to supertopo and search for Bat Shirt and then skim the search results until they find a post from you that advertises your business is a little word-of-mouth unfriendly. Just my observation as a customer and not really sure how to fix it... =)
Jay - I remember the chimney at Zanders, it was a perfect size for me and I felt really comfortable in it. The comfort level was very similar to the chimney on the route on the backside of Rock Hudson in the first pic I posted, which I have learned is Stahl Bros Chimney, 5.9.
And thanks for mentioning the post on the Wide Fetish site. I read the trip report from Russ, pretty funny. They did a better job than I in it!
Funny story for you Jay...I was sitting around the campfire talking to the guy next to me and telling him about the Bay Area Wide Wednesday crew and I mention your name in passing. I guess I didn't realize I was name dropping because he looks at me and says, "Jay? Lucille Jay? Really?" He knew you by your badass OW skills and reputation. You have certainly achieved the dubious title of Offwidth Rockstar status my friend. =)

Hi Strider,
The Chimney is actually call "Before and After Science" because we used a tied-off 2X4 to protect it on the first ascent. We didn't have enough wide stuff, but we had a 2X4 in fire wood pile.

Imagine a front page full of ow. It's easy if you try, too slow on a phone, though.

Another variation on the home-made OW experience - construction still in progress but couldn't resist giving them a spin.
If anyone happens to be in the Salinas area on the way to Pinnacles and wants to stop by let me know.

E Robinson!
invite like that might make a Futile Friday night offwidth session be a thing to do before a pinns weekend!
I need an easy offwidth to train on too.

Just saw the post on my near-neighbor Scuffy B's OW in the Redwoods...wow! In any case, looks like the Monterey Bay area must attract nutty folks who like to build strange rock-climbing structures in their backyards. But yeah, like I say send an e-mail if you're passing by.

That looks really fine, Elliott.
I'll be in touch. I work outside of Watsonville, so I'm in the
neighborhood, broadly speaking.
Action at my place has been slow lately.
The most likely suspects have been nursing tendinitis, or traveling,
or busy with studying for exams, or something.
Anybody,if you're interested in this, send me an email and I'll put you on
the big list.
Appointments by request, as well, and don't be intimidated by the email
invitations. Seems like 20-30 folks on the list, which translates to a
typical turnout of 0-3 climbers.
*the climb is now 3 ft taller than in these photos, about 28 ft high.
Cheers!!
