the crew gets bigger, people get hurt and take a "vacation" slab climbing or something...
the curious come by and give it a go...
...we try to have fun, be supportive, and stay in shape...
everyone's welcome to come by!

Wide Fetish is the site of the month on the front page of the Gripped website.
The intro: No, it's not what you think. Wide Fetish is a site devoted to the off-width climbing aficionados - all six of them. For the rest of us it offers an interesting insight into the why climbers enjoy wedging themselves into oversized cracks. Entertaining.

Spider,
I used Gecodec elastomeric paint, which is a material used to waterproof plywood decks that are walked on. It is one of the easier deck coatings to use so we use it for small decks and I tend to have some left over so that's what I used. I think any thick elastomeric paint would work. Prime 1st coat, elastomeric paint 2nd coat. elastomeric paint third coat with 60 or 30 mesh sand cast into it to saturation. Light sanding (or not). final coat.
This is just one way. Look at the other threads for other ways.

thanks for asking Steve... the back is getting better, but progress is still measured in how much less pain I have doing a particular activity: sitting.
On the flight today from SFO to IAD I actually sat most of the way, and while it started to be uncomfortable, and the taxi ride from the airport to the hotel was uncomfortable, there have been times in the not too distant past where it would have been unbearable...
...so progress!
No climbing yet, I've started to be in reasonable spirits to be able to start to "document" climbing. It took some time to come to terms with the possibility that I wouldn't be climbing again. But it looks like I will... but that is still to be determined in the future.

I saw a finger and hand crack machine made from 2 x 12 lumber here in SLO. It had been sculpted with a disk grinder to create undulations to provide better jams.
