The Marlow Connection is much stronger than we think. Here is proof.

Yesterday he posted the question (above) about that bewk concerning fire.

Two days ago I went through some of my photos from September 2013. Finding photos of the Rim Fire which I made from the roof of Middle Earth (tempting fate in the form of censure from the management), I collected them in a smaller file labeled Rim fire.

This can be chalked up to coincidence. Call it anything you like, I feel there is more to the story. It may be due to influences from an ark on the moon. It's more likely it's just the craziness which I will call Arson Fever, which has been my "private Idaho," or state of mental being.
In my life fire has meant much to me in one form or another. It's a fascinating thing. I've related much to walls of flame, to burning embers (there's that pleonasm again) and hot stumps.

Reproduced here is one of The Flames best pages, IMO, dated Sept. 23, 2013.

It will save me time as I won't have to post the folder I gathered. Most of the pics are already on that page.

It's also got the famous "weenies" boiling on the stove.

There are these bonus pictures from a logging book called Timber!
Ranger Ed Pulaski and 40 men took refuge during fire. Pulaski almost lost his life guarding tunnel entrance in preventing half-crazed men from breaking out to certain death or killing each other to get at trickle of water on tunnel floor. Pulaski suffered some loss of vision in fire but lived to retirement, meeting death in an automobile accident. A fire-fighting tool invented by him is called a "pulaski."

This was 1910.

And this was Wallace, 1902.
Please use your heads with Christmas tree illumination and removal. And when you burn your gift wrapping in the fireplace--I used to love that part of Christmas morning when we were kids.

call it the battle of aging court
but i’ve read this book before
it took till page 300 or so
but it’s deja vu beneath the blue
mediterrannean skies
the hero and buddy beat up the bad guys
and rub shite in their faces
while walking off with the goods and the girl
and go on to merely save the world

this is obviously a fun read, and i intend finishing it again.

Wild Bill Hickory was slain by a guy who went by the moniker "Throw-up Pie" McCall - he just couldn't stomach card games (rumour only, I offer no proof, but according to Weird Trotter none is required).

You can catch Keith Richard's version easily, but The Tuttles and AJ deserve some free advertising.

Please pass the mandolin (this one does not come with fries).

Just when you think ya got your HDL nailed, up pop myeloperoxidase (MPO) and apolipoprotein A1 (apoA1). Feel free to use the abbreviations.

Sometimes, things are just not what they seem.

Seems like I went to Wild Bill's grave outside of Denver, but maybe it was Buffalo's.

Enjoy your skiing holiday, if such is your fate.

How fast must a man go to get from where he's at?

A good question but terrible grammar.

Ah yes, but howz the food?

Ranges all the way from Fully Awful to Terrible Herbst?

This could also be the answer to Who Shot Liberty Valance and how far Robert Redford has left to go in life.
