Nearly starved to death on that Jungle trip. Rick Ridgeway, who did the food, thought that Celestial Seasons tea was chuck full of calories. There is another story about Bev and a couple of boiled monkeys that I'll tell later- it's kinda funny, or sick depending on your perspective.

Hoover went back to the Amazon again after Bev died. He took me, Walt and Graber. WE ate good.

Hoover took this shot of me with the local citizens way out in the middle of nowhere. To this day I still have no clue where I was.

Well, lynnie may be doing the trip soon. I'm open and yo never know the opportunity that presents. People that inhabit, cover and surround and dig deep into this sphere are really what breathing and life is all about....imho. :}

Werner, What is that in their lower lip. I have heard of plates, but those don't look like plates. What are they?

Edit: Found this link. They appear to be of the Zoe tribe in northern Brazil.

John

Those things in their lips I think may be bamboo? Supposed to make em look cool. They don't wear any clothe at all. Totally naked.

This tribe in the photo is forbidden to be visited by any outsiders. The IMAX production company had to pay the Brazillion govt. $15,000 to go there. We flew there in a small bush plane loaded down with IMAX gear.

When we left they loaded up the plane with all the gear and Hoover sent me first because he thought the plane wouldn't clear the trees on take off. Was a short mud strip.

Hahaha he was right, we barely made it over the tree canopy on take off.

Well, he could have run it out a little bit. "R". At least until he was gap toothed and senile. He still would have been funnier then anyone on late nite TV now.
