1st rule: Do what thou wilst.
1st collorary to the 1st rule: Leave no trace.
Leave no trace: principles and practices that emphasize the ethic of leaving a place free and clear of the residual evidence of human presence
how does the trailer fit in to this?
or is it one of those "do as I say, not as I do"...

if rule #1 is, "do what thou whilst shall be the whole of the law,"
there can't be a rule #2.

real climbers don't need pads you send that sh#t or your gonna get hurt.
real backcountry skiers don't need huts, break trail & slay that line then go home.
you're all weak and pathetic...

So it's leave no trace if it's pretty well hidden, and only a few people find it?

WARNING: Vast over-generalization to follow...
The contemporary bouldering community contains more examples of the separation of climbing and environmental responsibility than any other discipline of climbing.
Is this to say that all who specialize in bouldering are selfish, environmentally obtuse and disrespectful of other wilderness users? Nope. Based on the posts thusfar in this thread, however, it does appear that a few such cretins are with us here on ST.
So go ahead and keep your caching practices on the DL- when I come across one of them, I'll remember your 'feck you, it's all about me' attitude first when I booty that sucker. And if it ain't your pad, well, maybe you can explain why that happened to the poor cretin who thinks like you do.

I actually think the trailer is cool, but you're so fvcking over the top about everything, it's super easy to fvck with you...it's pretty funny to see how hard you rant.

For the record we don't stash pads up here. Most of 700+ problems established/rediscovered are 5 minutes from a road...no reason to stash.

Tom, you are mistaken--occasionally, I have to cut out early and leave y'all the local fatties (pads) which you leave in a clandestine spot for me to RETRIEVE with the kids the next morning. (an easy "service" for me, to entice fellow climbers to come over and play)
Jus' sayin'...;-)

RJ missed his calling. He should be a fire and brimstone preacher. Maybe not a televangelist, but he'd do OK on the circuit.

This discussion has gotten a bit off track but watever. I consider myself a boulderer. I also sport and trad climb but that is irrelivent. If I find pads stashed, even 5 miles in, I will take them home and be happy I have another pad for when it is needed. If you are too friggin lazy to carry the pads both ways, you need to find somewhere else to go climb. The "crew" I climb with would all do the same. Stash at your own risk. A stashed pack with gear in it, provided it is well hidden and contains nothing that marmots or the like would eat, will probably remain. However, just like the pad, if it is at all an environmental issue the gear will be taken, tested, and then added to my rack. Pads are an issue as soon as they are left alone. Ive seen too much foam blowing in the wind. Ill leave your pre-hung sport draws alone. No real impact besides being lame as hell.
As far as the trailer is concerned, if it is impenetrable to animals, hard to find, and is used and left responsibly, then I think it is much better for the environment than stashing pads. I'd even go as far as to say that the trailer may cause less impact than people tent camping. At least the trailer is self contained. Campers need their pit, cooking area, a flat and comfy area to sleep, etc. The trailer takes care of this and keeps all those parts together.
Again, Stash pads at your own risk. I will take them if I find them and make little to no effort to get them back to the lazy ass slacker who left it. I dont care if sharma was working the next king line and left it there. It will come home with me.
