My contribution:
* I give $100/month to Central Asia Institute after reading Three Cups of Tea. Every month that's more than I gave to all charities combined in my life prior to reading that book
* I bought a hybrid instead of a gas-guzzler
* I try to re-use grocery bags, and decline bags when I don't need them
* I'm becoming more conscious of locally produced food to reduce the fuel consumed in transportation. But I'm pretty weak in this.
Still, there's such a huge amount of my life that contributes to the wealth of people who spend that money on promoting hate-based education. I drive places I can conceivably bike all the time. I take plastic bags from grocery stores. I purchase products with a ridiculous amount of packaging. It's hard to live a good life. But it's easy and feels good to support people like Greg Mortensen who are out there directly addressing the big problems in the world that will eventually make the world a better place for all. If nukes don't kill us all first.

Note that they're attacking us more than we're attacking them. Also, had we isolated them in Afghanistan to begin with by going in with enough troops to seal the Pak border the Taliban wouldn't be raising hell in their new home.
what healyje is saying is that this is another case where republicans effed it up and did not want to risk capturing the bad guys....smart move on shrub's watch. dont move to CofC, move to Republicans thread....sorry fatty...

Interesting dilemma. How much are you willing to spend to fire Hellfire missiles at compounds at the source of planning to prevent attacks at home?
I think the Drone/Hellfire solution is a pretty good 'bang' for buck....

It was a war to prevent regional volitility. And yeah, we did stir it up, but, we'll also change the dynamic....hopefullly.

That's a damn good question and prolly a classified one too.
My guess would be either the FATA region of Pakistain, or Yemen. If he were smart (and he is) he'd get out of Pak and head to another tribal area like Yemen, Sudan, or Morocco. North Africa.
The problem that our intel agencies see, that you fail to see, is that OBL is dead already. He's insignificant in human form, he already got the jihad ball rolling. They don't need him anymore.
Lashkar-e-Taiba and Lashkar-e-Islam are already domininant.

It's a cruel world. Just because you're nice doesn't mean some rat-f*#ker isn't gonna blow up your dreams tomorrow. Sure, Greg means well, but a lot of other f*#kers don't...hence, the drones.
