I have always found a strong collelation (with acceptions of course) to the use of real names (or user names easily identified with actual humans) and the more thoughtful and significant posts. The annonimous posts usually can be found to be the ones with the most vitriol and slander.
Those with courage and honor are never ashamed of their own name.

Fake ID's are lame, and it is even lamer to libel someone from a fake or anonymous username. Your credibility is only as sound as your identity - have the courage to be real, and stand behind your convictions.
Perhaps if you have nothing good to say, you shouldn't say it at all? Or why not meet on the El Cap bridge and share opinions over a beer or two. Maybe detractors can find a way to seek a comprimise, or perhaps just agree to disagree. But it's better than saying unkind things on internet forums.
Thanks, Chris.

News item on topic:
http://www.theonion.com/content/news/local_idiot_to_post_comment_on
Quote from the above:
"We are blessed to be living in an age when we have a global communications network in which idiots, as#@&%es, and total and complete wastes of f*#king human life alike can come together to give instant feedback in an unfettered and unmonitored online environment," Mylenek said. "What better way to take advantage of this incredible technology than to log onto the Internet and insult a complete stranger?"

A wise person cannot possibly be insulted or offended.
Sometimes the reasoning for the perceived insult, while perhaps not accurately conveyed before adequate questioning, is accurate, revealing the knowledge or process to resolve the insult-creating contradiction so that no subsequent insult would exist.
Describing those idiots online, therefore possibly among more people than the same old group at a local social gathering, can garner more diverse responses, to create more accurate knowledge.
Or some sort of round-about like that.

I like the self moderating aspect of this place, if someone gets out of whack, we leap on them like a frog in a dynamite pond.
Hey, howabout Avatars and Emoticons?
Sometimes I am sarcastic, but nobody knows, so I need a sarcastic emoticon.
Make everybody post a real pic of themselves on their Avatar, that would cut down on the BS big time.

You can do better, zb. Dig it, just quote Doug Buchanan...Voila!
Absolute freedom, which exists anyway as evident by the incessant violation of laws, when said freedom is openly supported rather than denigrated, teaches individual responsibility sooner.
Further, it teaches people to sooner recognize the REASONING, or its absence, in the words and actions of others and thus oneself.
