I bumped it to the top of the Discovery Channel Forum by adding a comment. Someone else gave it five stars.

Ok folks, time to put up or shut up. Ken's posted something on the Dirty Jobs site, I did so as well.
Enough about Barrak McAin, Hilary Spears, or John Obama and George Cheney being the next antichrist, let's give Pope ChickenSkinner the support he deserves for putting this whole thing together.
Head over and pound that site with requests for the Facelift.

I joined up and posted but JUST as I hit the Send button, I noticed a typo.....I had misspelled the word "shot"(as in photography) and I got an error message saying my post contained a naughty word, and thus has to be reviewed to see if it can be posted..... The funny thing is, that the sentence makes sense with the incorrect word, so I am not sure what the moderator will think!

Hi Happiegirl,
It is a bit difficult to get a comment in there but they do keep it near the top. Thanks! It won't allow me to increase the check marks. I guess it is designed to keep the self promoters out which makes sense.

Ken,
I really like the idea Dirty Jobs covering the event as long as we think they are conveying a positive educational message to folks who watch the show.
Although I totally agree with you not wanting to bring additional attention to our own messes, nothing can beat the dirty factor of a 10 year old 2 liter Coke bottle duct taped shut with the old poo inside being pulled out of two feet of other garbage from Camp 6!
Maybe a different show...lets concentrate on other sides of the "Dirty Job" of the Facelift...taking what's ugly, and making it look NICE.
I'll be in touch,
Jesse

Jesse,
I think I have spent 12 nights there and most have been with an incredible stench. (Even in the 70's} Definitely a problem area.
Talk to you soon.

Hey Ken, do you have idea about how to properly clean that location. Maybe rap down from the top with hot water and 'flush it' to the open face where nature will wash it with rain.
I dunno, I've never been there. I know it will reflect bad on climbers, but it could be a perfect job for Mike...a challenge.
Maybe if he does it we could use the video as a guide to what knott to do on a route with your sh#t. If it's on camera it strikes home, despite portraying (some) climbers in an inconsiderate way.

Would need water (lots) + pressure + disinfectant + cleaning tools + crew. Plus maybe an environmental impact statement and hazard evaluation.
Plus some way to prevent it happening again. It doesn't sound like natural flushing action does the job.
Though if one of those old bongs is in there...

How far is Camp 6 from the top? Fixed lines from the top could stage water drops down, no?
Once the sh#t hits the face it would be natually flushed with late sept rains. Maybe I'm wrong.
Naturally the feces would end up somewhere, but the rains could dispurse the bacteria, eventually cleaning it.

ahhh, I've lost repect for y'all.
No more posts on the DC website. Same people who bitch about "too many political threads" on the first page don't want to promote a generous event in our playground.
I'm disappointed, f*#k you.

Now, now......Camp 6 can be reached from the Top, but the problem w/ it is it has a wide, deep crack at the back(!) that the foolish noseys stick refuse in. Hard to extract.
