So weed will become legal, but driving under the influence will be illegal.
And the po_lice will enforce this?

That's f*#king dangerous.
You're supposed to have the passenger steer whenever you take both hands off the wheel to get loaded.

Colorado keeps trying to sort things out regarding pot. Local municipalities and counties can make up their own rules, which has led to a situation like I experienced in the deep south fifty years ago where one county was dry and the next over was wet.
Here in Pueblo county where there are many rec pot stores the issue is being revisited, with Proposition 200 eliminating sales of rec pot in the entire county. The pot industry is fighting it tooth and nail, and if it passes, which it might, that industry will tie things up in a legal knot for years to come.
Be careful what you wish for.

It also makes it illegal to give marijuana away. State has to get its tax.
Don't just read Locker's summary. Read the text of the law.

Not in the recap above but I recall six plants per adult limit.
I don't recall any 'small' (personal) cultivation tax.

I could understand compromises like that - if the law was making its way through The Legislature.
But this initiative was put on the ballot by The People, going around the Legislature, who wouldn't do sh#t for years and years. Why act like we have to trade away our freedoms? We're not getting anything in return.
The limits should all be on The Government - not us.

Up thread, Nut said:
The profit motive of corporations after legalization might lead to some ugly stuff like outlawing private backyard growing for personal use,
Very, very, very unlikely to happen. Ever heard of home brewing? Boutique wines? Nope, once it passes, private citizens will be able to grow. I've got to read the text and see if the "no edibles" thing is true. I'm going to vote for it, as I said. The astronomical waste re. law enforcement and the destruction of drainages in our national forests have got to stop. We have to take the huge profit margin out of the industry. Prohibition was an obvious mistake back in the 20's and 30's. The same is true of pot today.

I saw no changes when the new law passed here. The local pot dispensary only use to sell to folks with a medical card, now they sell to anyone. My son was in in town and the car was passing the pot store, son yells: "HEY SLOW DOWN THAT'S MARK" His old climbing buddy who he had gone to college with.
"Couchmaster: I don't smoke it, but most of my climbing friends do and they should not be made out to be criminals for puffing on a bong now and then.
Now and then? "
LOL, I could have left the now and then off, sure:-) Left off the bong part as well since few actually take a bong out with them:-) As an aside, some of the folks who sponsored the original Ca law that allowed for medical marijuana oppose this and will be voting no on this measure. Too controlling they say. Gonna invite the large corps and big government in. And they might be right. I'll confess that I haven't read the measure.

The edibles thing is they can't make any candies that look like products (not weed products) currently out on the market.

And the justification will be that it has to be tightly controlled and safely grown, like all those Pall Malls and Lucky Strikes were/are.

I'll re-write it:
Prop 420
All State marijuana laws are hereby repealed, and never to be replaced. Any marijuana problem, such as driving while loaded or giving it to kids, can be addressed using laws already on the books.

What's the one thing Bernie Sanders, Ayn Rand, Noam Chomsky, and Milton Friedman all agree on?
Legalize it!
Blows my mind it still hasn't happened nation wide...
