More botex injections today at Loma Linda.......every 2 to 6 months......it relaxes (or deadens) the muscles in his leg so he can get more muscle extension at least some of the time.......He was brave;...only cried during the actual injections, and then we went to Gamestop to buy him a new DS game........it's his quest and the path he must take.....he seems OK and comfortable with who he is and his challenges.....good for him.

Yer boy has more guts than all us old farts put together Todd. Hope he continues to improve, I always love to hang with him in the back yard so he can show me his toys. Quite the guy!

Had a similar experiene myself with a "Dead Bone" in my leg. In the 50's (2 thru 4th grade) they put my in a cast - the whole bad leg and 1/2 of the other for 3 months. Then on crutch for 2 1/2 years. It was hard on me but harder on my parents. They had to keep saying No to things and trying to make what they could work. My dad made we a flat cart with 3 inch wheels to get around the house for those 3 months. Pull up bar above my bed to get up and down (must have help for climbing). After a year on crutchs and asking a million times they let me ride a bike with one leg using the toe to pull up the pedal. Balance was an issue but my dad hung in there for the teaching phase. With backward pedal braking they were plenty nervous. Couldn't bike out of the neighborhood.

Got to play football in junior high (we were 30 miles the Green Bay Packers) but it killed my Dad when he had to say that High School football wasn't going to happen. Back then you didn't have many parents at the game but he got to make a couple. Even with Vietnam War Protest and long hair we could always talk about the packers.
Things work out for me. And my parents and I made it. Being a kid I can't say I always understood the decisions they had to make. But there was always love and looking back I know it was just as rough on them.

Hang in there being a parent in never easy.

Great kid for a million reasons... He is just like his parents. Hugs to both of you!

Now imagine years ago when they didn't have these options for treatments? I was hanging out in the ER just a week ago thinking how many times I myself should be worse off, even dead without the treatment of modern medicine. Kinda blows my mind and... It makes it easier when I have to let those folks stick a needle in me. Even when it's painful, life is better for it.

I am sure your son will grow up stronger for all this and I am sure this would be easier to do it yourself.
