What we are doing at the national level isn't taking out a loan on a house or a car.





We are running up the credit cards and taking out a second to buy groceries, cigarettes and beer.

Eric: I like your piece about the Tea Party but wish you would address the question as to how it is that this angry group could be hijacked by the establishment which they proclaim to despise.

I submit that one trait that these people have is peculiarly American: they have a deep, but misguided IMO, belief that they may someday be members of the rich, privileged class themselves. I would appreciate your thoughts on this.
