Times is tight here, but this cause is too big to not bump. Ron, I need some small brass wires for my rack, and could use an angle or two at 1" or even3/4" for sawed offs. I'm sending a $100 check for what ever you can part with. In the mail today with return address.
Gas money is all I got, but the cause is worth it in my opinion. And thanks Ron for taking on the spokesperson task. What a guy.
Bob
Ps, they are for climbing and using, so initials not important to me. I'll know, no one else would believe it anyhow.

Got quite a few small brass nuts, although they are all standard rather than offset.
Angles too, so I think you'll be pleased with what I send you, a good deal all the way round.
Its nice to get requests that can be readily filled.
Hopefully I'll be able to post some positive news regarding our friend soon.
Still a ton of heads, many biners (including lockers, a legacy of Kyle's rigging work), the set of hexes, more channel angles, some smaller tri-cams (no pink), and I bet those bongs'd make a helluva wind chime.

Check in the mail!
Not often you can do something to thank someone for the routes you have the honor of climbing. A lot more "entertainment" value there than I can pay for...
Thanks for organizing this Ron - climbing can be scary, but growing old alone is scarier.

UPDATE
Just spoke to Layton.
The fistula worked yesterday but kept setting off the low flow alarm. It won't last. Although he has had issues with docs in Kingman, Vegas, and Phoenix, he seems to be happy in Flagstaff, and may get a new one there.
Hopefully Albert'll be back from the red cliffs in time to assist.
I am walking a fine line here. Layton does not like have to his medical difficulties discussed, but certain details have been disclosed by other individuals with the best of intentions. I know we all wish him well, but please don't ask for more detail.
However, it IS kosher to report that I just got back from the post office, where I found and immediately forwarded checks from felix, slevin, and johntp totalling,......
$650.00 !!!!!!
Way to go gang!
I'll be shipping packages shortly. Hope you like the extras.

slevin,
I'd like nothing better than to say if we raise X number of dollars then Layton can have a procedure that will cure his problems.
No such luck.
The situation with his medical difficulties is complex. The best that can be hoped for is to fight the good fight for many more years, but it will require trips to the clinic several times a week.
Trips that run up "co-pay" charges.
That means substantial expense to a retired bricklayer who's wife works at the K-mart.
It is an american tragedy that is being played out in millions of homes, but there is only one Layton Kor. He is a national treasure, but only a fraction of a percent of americans even recognize the name.
So it is up to us, our little community, to look after our own. I don't know how long I can succeed in raising money in a manner that Layton is OK with.
But I'm not about to stop trying.

Nice work Ron,
$250 for a couple of those bongs and big hexes on a couple ovals?
Let me know and I'll convert some loonies into greenbacks.
Keep up the good work, all the best to Layton.

Layton couldn't get dyalized yesterday. He's on antibiotics and oxygen.
I'm worried. He goes into the clinic at 8:00am.
Thanks to all who pitched in.

I see some Prototype Eiger hexes in that pile.
Those should bring a fine price, not many were made.

UPS is gonna get some business from me this week (I don't like brown but its a good cause).
As I write this Layton is under the knife. He has not been able to dialyze for 4 days and is weak. The fistula has failed and they have no choice but to go back to having the catheter in the shoulder. This is not good because it is more prone to infection.
Karen is with him in Flagstaff and thankfully our mutual friend Albert is there to help out as well.
Layton, of course, wants to get in and get out and go home. I hope they can hold him a while.
I know we all wish him a speedy recovery.

That's a very fine selection of gear, Ron, even if some of it is no longer much in use. Classic stuff - hopefully Ken is pleased with what he got for the museum, courtesy you know who.
