Beth,
When I get pissed I just bump a bunch of climbing threads. I see others doing this and It helps me see the climbing threads that I might have missed because of all the OT crap. That might make you feel a little better.
Hell I've even had a "Taco-Stalker" - how hot is that!

Didn't say you didn't climb. But this whole monitor generation is getting out of hand. You of all people should be the last one logging in complaining about the lack of climbing threads. Common bro you're a trend setter not to mention a really good f*#king climber. Why waste your time on the tampon.
Just push back from the monitor and no one will get hurt.
edit: Get busy living or get busy dieing. Thread monitoring is just digging a grave for yourself.
Bla bla bla bla...

I'll be nuking this thread shortly.
Nuking (censoring) threads is much more lame than posting OT crap, IMKSHO.

Thanks for the words of those of you who agree this has become out of control.
For the rest of you, have fun debating politics all day on a climbing website.
But I'm nuking this so that it doesn't become a distraction for the rest of the day....bumping CLIMBING threads that might appear down lower in the rung.
HK - see above as to why I'm nuking this. I've usually been in your corner but respect that I don't want to be part of the problem of legit climbing threads getting bumped to oblivion.
And High Fructose...sorry you live in Iowa and don't get to climb like the rest of us do this time of year...and like to post about what we climbed. But knock it off with the personal attacks.

Flouride - If you watch JDF's (she's a witch) youtube (I mean actually watch and listen) it seems to me he is poking fun at the anticipated naysayers not you!
It would be nice to be able to have a "favorites" tab. Also a "for sale" tab.
edit: since the TR tab, there have been complaints that they are not being looked at and people are having to post on both.

If it's forum-related it's hardly off topic. I fought the good fight many moons ago.
It's interesting to see folk's opinions on this, FWIW.

Why?
Then you'll have a sceenshot of the OP with a link to the deleted thread.
We wouldn't want that, would we?
Well, WOULD WE????????????1111

HK why are you threatening me? You don't to that to T*R when she nukes hers. People nuke their threads all the time. But you're singling this one out? That's hypocritical.
This thread has proven it has no decent outcome and will do nothing positive for this site. Everyone has their opinions, they've been expressed and it'll just knock down actual climbing threads with more responses.

I like the solution up thread of allowing the OP to tag their thread and users can choose to ignore them. That is a way almost everybody wins. I'd also like to be able to ignore certain posters.
However that requires more programming and more expense. The forum costs money (and I doubt makes any) and I'm ok clicking through few pages or skipping posts I don't want to read.
There are open source programs for forums that most forums (like rc.com) run on. This site is unusual in it's freedom and uniqueness and I wish to see it stay that way.
Flouride I appreciate that you are taking effort to improve the forum as you wish, but you also need to listen to the reasons of those who like it the way it is.

I'm hardly singling you or anyone else out. I've reposted many deleted threads, and I've been doing it for YEARS.
This is the only forum out of the hundreds I've visited that allow users to censor the posts of others,
and it's my little OCD-fueled protest against what I consider antisocial behavior. It's nothing personal...
