Dingus in the Narrows 101: tie in with a big loop, so the knot doesn't foul you up.

Nice indoor facility! My crack machines are a little damp right now... Looks like the Narrows is casual for Jaybro. Did Steck slither up it, or wisely aid the outside like his old partner?

Pls reshoot those Narrows simulator shots, only not so "tight" this time.

I always wondered... right where you enter the Narrows the roof is stained. Is this from thousands of climbers sweating and having the bodily fluids run down the wall onto the small roof?

It is the blood and essence of failed sportclimbers. They are stacked up like cordwood at the base.

They don't burn as nice as cordwood, however.
Stinks, too.

C'mon Munge, it's only 5.9!
The narrows sucked for me because I've got kind of a big chest, completely useless for climbing and totally horrible in that tight slot. Also my partner led that pitch and handed me his helmet before he cast off- so I had to wear that g*@d#&m euro crash helmet on my head through there too- couldn't even turn my head round or nuthin'.
When's the next session at Zander's?

I wouldn't to get all the way up there and find out I don't fit thru.
Although I've gotten thru the Crystal Cave crawling tour in SD. 18" i think.
still, maybe I can climb the outside on the follow?

Where the heck is this Zandersland place, Ed? Behind the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in San Jose? Why the Egyptian theme? OW cracks are for embalming mummies?

I thought Mighty Hikers post was pretty funny...
Gripped says: "No, it's not what you think. Wide Fetish is a site devoted to the off-width climbing aficionados - all six of them."
all six!!!
Really?
I'm sure there are more than 6 humans who consider themselves off-width proficient...
but still.. the # is not that far off the mark!!!
Cheers..
Will need to wait to review this post once I get onto a machine that keeps its web browser updated.. unlikd the one I have available here at work.... go figure.. a multi-billion $ company can't keep its browsers up to date... !

Just got my OW party on in Josh this week...
This is an unlisted chimney on the backside of Rock Hudson. There were a fair amount of potato chips in the chimney so it is obvious it doesn't get done often. Super fun and secure. My knees are still battered!
Gettin on it!
Don't stop now!
This is a shorty to the right of Peyote Cracks. Short but fun. The tricky part was turning around halfway up from left side in to right side in.
This abomination is called Ipecac. .11 something. Good lord I thought I might actually puke on this one.
Trying my hardest not to get vomited out of the crack...
And failing miserably. I made it to the top and cleaned the leaders gear but definitely not in good style. Various tricks ensued...
Oh, and can you see the two wide-ish cracks in the background of this last pic? Did those as well, 5.8 and 5.9. Both fun and NTB.
Good week. The weather was spectacular!

Ah! going wide. The mantra for new routing in Patagonia has always been, "go wide or go home."

Taken in Stride, Strider! There is an illustrated write up on epicac on the wide fetish site.
Look, there's more than six right there! Maybe that's half of them...
