Ron Anderson,
Thinking the way you think really scares me.
You would have the Military-Industrial-Spy Complex do whatever they want with abandone outside of our Constitutional Laws and outside the International Laws that we have ratified -- The Geneva Convention. If they were given this illegal freedom, we would all be in prison including you.
I'm glad a majority of the country does not think or believe erroneously like you. Scarry. Sounds like you want a lawless country and free-for-all. Perhaps a "Mad Max" kinda world.
No thanks.
I served honorably. I served 2 years in the US Army, 3rd US Infantry, Co. E, Honor Guard, Ft. Myer, VA. I buried many fallen soldiers/veterans in Arlington National Cemetary.
We are a Country of Laws. The military protects us. They are accountable to the people. Thank GOD.
Edit:
This story got bumped by another story last night that is just as important. Our Supreme Court selling our Country to the highest Corporate bidders.
The unbelievable acts of treason just keep coming.
The Supreme Court has been stacked (loaded) with Neo-con Rethugs, and they are Hell bent on destroying our Constitution, our Country, and our Democracy.
It is a sad day in America.

sorry man!
i was being stupid-
it was in harpers, i guess i was transposing from another thought...
http://harpers.org/archive/2010/01/hbc-90006368
so, same question, did you read the whole article?
it's not just the murders, or that they were hiding the murders, it's that in fact they were killed while being interogated (or tortured? probably) and that was being done by some? unknown or unidentified government entity- possibly rumsfeld's baby w/in the pentagon(?) and then that a DOJ investigation went nowhere, possibly indicating (along w/ early FBI involvement where the military usually does not call in the FBI) that the DOJ itself could be implicated and covering it's own ass.
the shoes in this arena tend to drop slowly, but when one like this doesn't go public for this long, even a year after the POTUS changes out, it just indicates that we are not yet able to see the whole picture, and the sh#t that we rightly chastise and demonize other criminal regimes for doing is the same sh#t that has now been widely done in our name. on top of that, it has been fruitless and pointless, we have sold our soul and antee'd up our collective integrity, only to get no valid intel, and to inspire that which we say we want to prevent in an ever growing population of possible "enemies", one which which doesn't have to be so bloated a pool and wouldn't if we truly were what we thought we were.
just like the torture pics they won't release, these truths too will eventually see the light of day. you cannot supress the truth, it finds a way to the light, eventually.

THREE guys didn't get "accidentally" killed during torture, within minutes of each other. That would be massively incompetent, and the military is NOT massively incompetant in that way at all.
Those three guys had something in common and that must (most likely) have been something that they might of SAID. I want to know WHY they were killed. WHAT were they likely to have said that was worth the Sh#t that is going to fly over their "suicide"? And did the shithead Colonel order the killings? Because damn little goes on in the military that is outside of orders.
we might not ever find out

Edit:
Bluering,
I would like to say the article you posted a link to is hog-wash conservative CYA propaganda.
The Harper's investigative story was based on a multi year study with every i dotted and every t crossed by a very good and exhaustive and thorough investigation team lead by a professor, and along with help from and with his Constititional law students.
When I can I will post the link to this thorough study if I haven't already upstream.
