The people with him now will know best what he needs.

Thanks to them, and you, neebee.

I don't think so.

Only on Supertopo are the real experts who know what to do .....

I agree with Werner. Just let the people who are caring for him do their jobs. They definitely don't need our help.

Just wait it out. News will come when it comes.

Quick update. All the major repairs have been made - arms, face, elbows, legs, head, and so forth. Looks good and Scott's swelling is down. Still has a trach and is heavily sedated because whne they try and back it off he gets agitated and his BP soars. But they say that will subside as his body recovers from the initial shock of getting all busted up and the slow healing starts happening for real. Too soon for visitors but this is a long haul kind of thing so hang in there with him.

good to hear he has the support he needs,

It's reassuring to hear he has the energy to get agitated when they let up on sedation. Was getting worried by the silence and good to get the update.

JL, Thanks for the update..

It seems to me that being sedated while healing is preferable to being aware , frustrated and bored in a hospital bed.

Heal up Scott. We are all there for you.

Sounds like he's in a lot of pain too.

I feel for ya coz... I only had one burst vertebrae. Your pain must be so intense bro. It sounds like the drugs help. I hope that's true. Stay strong Scott. This too shall pass.

I've never had anything close to these types of injuries.. But what I have had has often made me say semi jokingly.. "knock me out and wake me up when it's over"

I would imagine there are drawbacks to keeping someone under for a few weeks but if it's safe enough and keeps the pain away.. wouldn't that be cool to wake up mostly healed past the real bad stuff?

Anyway.. rambling but thinking of Coz. Praying for no bad infections now.

A little something from Scott's sister

"Hi from Scott's sister. Scott is doing better every day. He is a fighter and I know he will make it through this. The doctors are hopeful. Scott will need all our love and support as he has given so many in the past. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I can't wait until he wakes up and can see all the love and support all his amazing friends are giving him today."

"this is Scott's sister, the address for mailing cards is P.O. Box 1983, Palm Springs, Ca 92263. He is currently in ICU so they want to limit the visits. Also gifts cant be sent at the moment. Once he is in a place where he can have visitors I will let everyone know."

Live with a steady superiority over life--
don't be afraid of misfortune, and do not yearn after happiness;
it is, after all, all the same: the bitter doesn't last forever,
and the sweet never fills the cup to overflowing.

For Coz, this is so true. Please pull through this for all of us who need a lot more of your comedy, welcomed rile and whatnot.
