I searched in the constituion, could not find a reference to God. They did use a date in the common manner by saying "year of our Lord". Other than that, nada.
You can search here: http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html

Are you referring to the date?
That's the basis of God in the constitution?

If there is a "Year of our Lord" there must be a Lord!
I never claimed there is a "basis" of God in the Constitution. If there was we probably wouldn't need the inclusion of religion in the First Admendment.

correct, except in the case of the phrase "in the year of the Lord" it is,
whether or not the phrase had turned into a common term lacking all of it's original meaning.

it is not to be understood that I am with him [Jesus] in all his doctrines. I am a Materialist; he takes the side of Spiritualism; he preaches the efficacy of repentance toward forgiveness of sin; I require a counterpoise of good works to redeem it. Among the sayings and discourses imputed to him by his biographers, I find many passages of fine imagination, correct morality, and of the most lovely benevolence; and others, again, of so much ignorance, of so much absurdity, so much untruth and imposture, as to pronounce it impossible that such contradictions should have proceeded from the same being."

Quoting Jefferson's actual words is just more liberal obfuscation perpetrated by the lamestream media, ok Norton? Real Americans(TM) simply generalize about what they FEEL Jefferson WOULD have said.

Jefferson was one smart cookie!
edit: he also wasn't the Atheist that many try to portray him as.
On a side note: RIP The second wisest Jefferson (George). You are movin' on up!

19 killed in an Algerian church yesterday when an armed gunman entered. And you talk about Americas violence.
Nigerian, not Algerian.
America has more violence than other first world counties.
Arguing that America is "non-violent" in comparison to a third-world sh#t-hole, then that is a pathetic. You're having to reach pretty far down to the bottom of the barrel--Nigeria is a shithole even in comparison to most other shitholes. It's a country where courts still sentence people to be stoned to death for "adultery." Islamic terrorists have been targeting Christian churches and killed hundreds.

Details matter when you are making an argument, Ron.
Whether it's Algeria/Nigeria, or the actual facts surrounding a hot coffee lawsuit, be prepared for others to scrutinize what you say and challenge you on inaccuracies.

You are using a Nigerian church as equivalency to any American church (and by extension, a Sikh Temple) to validate your argument that guns should go anywhere, anytime?
That's a pretty weak effort, Ron.
