Yea. Let's get rid of kickoffs. Punts, too. While we're at it, no more tackles. Two hand touch should be enough to down a player.
And what about those scantily clad cheerleaders? so sexist. So misogynist. Talk about encouraging toxic masculinity. Shame on the NFL.

^^^ Yeah!
And the only celebration after a TD that should be allowed is: at least two players take off their helmets and slam their heads together. More players makes for a better celebration!
Oh, wait. I think that I'm thinking backwards.
Oh, whatever!

Talk about encouraging toxic masculinity.
Are you kidding? You look at a QB and it’s manslaughter. You literally touch his head and
its Murder 2! Meanwhile a RB plows into the line and gets head butted by three 400 pounders.
Where’s the consistency or logic, let alone masculinity, in that? Screw those momma’s boy QBs!
That said I do feel sorry for Troy Aikman - his elevator doesn’t go anywhere near the top floor.

I don't get the love affair with kickoffs. Anymore, it is usually into the endzone and the team gets it at the 25. Is that really that sacrosanct?
Kickoffs can be the most exciting play in the game. The kicking team can play it safe and kick it thru the end zone. Or they can try to pin them closer but take the risk it could be returned much father or even for a TD.
They've taken steps to make kickoffs safer which I agree with. But like most changes there are other consequences, e.g. onside kicks almost never work anymore. I like onside kicks as a high risk way to get the ball back in a must score situation.
I love flag football and wish the league promoted it more (e.g. at the Pro Bowl). It takes a lot of the best parts of football and takes out most of the injuries. It does fine without kickoffs. But it's very different from tackle football. The tackle aspect of football really reflects on it's roots in violent mob football and is part of what makes it fun to watch and play. I'm generally in favor of rules that keep the full contact nature in place, while reducing injuries. I like the changes that have protected QBs and WRs, etc.
I don't mind the stoppages for replay at all. Football has always been a sport of starts and stops. I always have someone to talk to or something available to do/read because I can't sit and watch ads anyway. I'd much rather they get the call right than not wait but the call is wrong.

Yeah; played football from Pop Warner through junior high (at which time my small stature became problematic. The scariest part were kickoffs and punts, when people are running full blast at each other.

The down side to flag football is that the black lives matters genuflectors could drop their flags during the national anthem as an overt form of protest...kinda like gang hand signals...

No doubt it is hard core. Not sure why, just not my game.
LaCrosse is cool.
Hockey (live) is great, boring on the toob.
I watch soccer when I need to sleep.
edit: of course the lambs will win. the refs are on their side and it seems the league wants to see Brady retire.
edit2: not a real conspiracy theorist, but it just seems the NFL is rigged like reality TV.

Gurley is hiding an injury - he isn’t the same as earlier in the season. CJ Anderson is pretty good but so is the Pats’ run D. Pats have 3 capable and healthy runners and Rams’ run D is good but not great. Edge to Pats
Pats’ receivers are better than Rams’. Brady is better than Goff. Nuff said.
Both kickers are very good. Even
Belichick is a genius, no question.
Pats 27-23
BTW, star of the game will be The Dude in a Stella Artois ad. Bet on it!

They should play in an open stadium with rain, snow, mud, lightning bolts and all that sh!t.
The fans will be topless with bodypaint all over em drinking beer and shouting profanities.
Not like these modern sterile drooling pussies these days in their sterile domes .......
