I'm old enough that "new math" has a different meaning.
I refer you to Tom Lehrer, not that I can provide a link
"but that's not the answer I had in mind, because the book I got
this problem from wants you to use Base 8..."
paraphrase, probably not actual quote

Yes, I believe in sports for kids that don't keep score.
Sports that don't use scores are important for a child's
development.
I don't mean they should play baseball or football without
keeping score.
One of the reasons climbing is good for kids is that no score
keeping is necessary. If a kid gets into a competition program
and likes it, fine, but in the long run, fortunately for most
climbers,
You Climb Your Own Climb.
That's why wankers, gurus, honchos, dweebs and poseurs can rub
elbows here.

Jesus H. Christ! Now I'm indebted to a skinny, good-looking bitch who can out-climb me on my best days - what was I thinking? Russ, how do you do it? Day in, day out, always the underdog...

Nice job everyone! I'm still missing Jbaker and Radical so post up or email me the results pronto or we'll take a vote for penalty fees.
Super great results over-all I'll post up the final numbers as soon as those slackers submit.

Sorry, I've been on the road.
Feh, I was only down 8 from the start of the challenge when I got home and weighed in just before midnight, so I need to pay up. I knew it was going to be a little tough after losing 10 just before the contest started, but I'm pretty happy to be down 18 pounds.
Congratulations, everyone!

Hey,
Did I miss something? I have not seen an email or a recap of who gets what.
Still holding at 179, needing to get to 176.
Cheers

Ok, guys here's the results. Sorry for the delay...I'm still coming off of the WideWeekend™
We ended up with 11 people in the Winners pool. Although, like Scuffy and I were talking about, there are many more "winners" than that. You'll see that as a whole, people did really well on the challenge - many of which missing the winners pool by only a pound or so.
Terrific job to all!! The Pot is about $435 thus getting the winners $62 each minus any PayPal fees.
This is the breakdown:
James D - down 5 ($10 + $50 = $60)
Susan P - down 10.4 (WINNER)
Fattrad - down 9 ($10)
Prod - down 11 (WINNER)
Pewf - down 7 ($30.00)
Debora D - down 9 ($10)
Scuffy - down 13+ (WINNER)
Ron H - down 2 ($10 + 80 = $90.00)
Radical - down 7 ($10 + $30 = $40)
Crotch - down 10 (WINNER)
Goatboy - down 11 (WINNER)
Jabber - down 6 ($10 + $40 =$50)
FishFinder aka Candyman - down 10.5 (WINNER)
Brandon L.- down 5 ($50)
Healyje - down 3.5 ($65)
Jbaker - down 8 ($20)
Salad - down 10.6 (WINNER)
Christa - down 9 ($10)
People who need to pay and haven't done so, please do!

A big thanks to Susan for running the challenge. Congratulations to everyone who participated. I had to chip into the pot, but the motivation was definitely worth the bucks. I had to put another hole in my belt this morning, so I think I may have finally hit the goal, a few days late.

I put on 5 pounds last week golfing in Alabama playing 36 holes a day, drinking 15 or so beers a day and eating tons of fried seafood. I lost 4 of those pounds in 3 days and am only 1 pound over par.

edit.. If I had my paypal money I'd most likely buy some sh#t from fishproducts.com....
