Haha! Yep, the Big Wall book - though very cool - needed a better home. The beer found a perfect one, it's in my fridge chilling and waiting for a good excuse to share it with a friend!

PS: I'm so glad the moment with Frumy and the chair was captured - this seriously happens every. single. time! Something about G_Gnome's chairs are out to get him! Or that's what he'd say anyway. ;)

Phyl, thanks again for the painting. Really weird coincidence being you painted it on my Birthday and numbered it 32. Definitely a highlight meeting you finally. Anytime you need a place to stay let us know.

Marlow, cross the Sea to see next year!

Mucci, thanks for making the long drive, hoping the best for your ankle. Definitely hard to be on the sidelines.

Jan, really big words about Shuteye from you. Friday night at the Stoney camp was too good. Your guys stories and heckling and laughing at each other is a climber's universal. Loved the Guyman suddenly joining in from his tent. Hopefully see you around, let me know if you need anything.

Tiki, thanks man, I'll be back.

Carrie, haha I didn't realize Frumy is sabotaged so often.

I got a ton of climbing pics still to load, but gunna be awhile.

That was a blast. Y'all are awesome. Justin and Mindy were definitely the hosts with the mosts. You two throw a good party.

Too many highlights but here are three:

1. Riding with Mouse

2. The "Post Valhalla Stoked Aura" of Vitally and Luke (edit.).(Angel Wings) (heal up V.)

3. Jay-" I'm pretty sure that we met back in the day"

Brook- " I'm not sure. It's been awhile. You remind me of Shaggy..."

Jay- " I am Shaggy!"

I ended up with an extra Shuteye Guide? Mouse?

Thanks Y'all.

I think you should save it, Flip Flop. Tell, though, is it Brook or Brooke?

And I was thanking "Danny" when I wanted to thank "Kenny" for that ride into North Fork. My ignorance of names of those I just met has got to be wiped out and the best way is to make plans to return, if possible, next year.

This was an awesome, just-the-right-size gathering and I'm very sorry I felt so out of it. I'd have loved to jam and jive much more with all of you fine, mellow folks.

I did achieve my main goal, which was to meet Chappy.

And Guyman, I am complimented by you and your desire to meet me. So there.

Now I'm working to see, is it in the realm of possibility to move up to North Fork. Still. As I've fantasized before on The Flames.

Flip Flop, we need to talk. Call me, please.

Looking forward to your climbing shots, Justin!

Mouse,it's alright to call Kenny Danny he's a great guy by any name. It was fun to briefly meet you and a few others. If my wife's not in Poland next year maybe I can leave my crazy dog behind and hang out more and meet a few more folks. I was really glad to see Mike A. again after many years.
I'd like to hire Justin as a meteorolgical consultant for my vacation plans in the future as the weather was as good as any July day can be in this area and he picked it a few month's in advance. Justin when should I do a ski vacation next year? I'll pay you after I ski a bunch of powder.

Hi, all. The Shuteye taco trip was a blast. Driving up from LA on a Thursday evening after work is the way to go. None of the usual stop n go traffic you get on Friday slowed us down and we soon found ourselves at the best Taco Stand in Tulare, (thanks Yelp)
The place didn’t look like much but with grandma back in the kitchen, cooking, you can bet the Tacos were first class and they were.
We made good time and got to Rincons home in Corsegold and were joined by Cole who lives in Josh and Carrie who made the trip from SLO and Mark who lives in Bishop and we stayed up till 2am swilling beer and catching up. We all agreed that the longest drive was Mark, who had to drive for 5 hours in the snow over Tioga pass, in July!!!!!

On Friday morning we headed up to the “Big Sleep” to go get a spot and get some climbing done. On the way we stopped in at a Deli, located in a market in Oakhurst, and I ordered a “Breakfast Burrito”, this proved to be a fateful mistake.

When we arrived at Big Sleep, Justin Ross had his trailer all set up. We had our pick of spots and got a good place for our wagon train of cars. We set up camp, talked with Justin and got some good information on the nearest climbing ....
“The Runnells” became the chosen objective....”A 20 minute hike” according to Justin.
Well I never made it, about 18 minutes into this hike the pressure that had been building in my gut overwhelmed the pop off valve and I blew big chunks all over the pristine wilderness..... “you guys go ahead and climb, I am going down to camp” I said. I staggered down to camp, with a few more gut retching sessions along the way I fell into my tent and lapsed into unconsciousness. I would only emerge when the pop off valve was ready to blow again.... about every two hours!

The climbers returned at sundown, I was feeling a bit better by now and even ate some of the Angel Hair pasta Jan cooked. By now the campground was filling up and an impromptu “campfire session” had started up about 15 feet from my tent..... Vitaliy, Luke, Justin and unknown others were telling stories, lies and spreading slander .... “Stoney Style”. I felt right at home and would interject comments to the unseen as needed. This continued long into the night.

Saturday morning, I felt a bit better. But not good enuf to go climbing. I watched and was quite envious of all the climbers who walked by as they headed up to Shuteye Pass and more of the fabulous climbing that is up there. I was starting to feel better and spent the day eating bits of food and stretching. I could hear climbers yelling “off belay”, “rope” and “yesssss!!!!!!!” this echoed down from all the cliffs.... lots of fun was going on.

By the time the sun was starting to set and the real party was about to start I felt good enuf to drink a beer and I was digging through the ice chest looking for a cold one, that’s where I was when the group photo went down.
The raffle was cool, I really wanted that 70m 9.1 cord.... Luke won it and that is for the best. I am sure Luke and Vitaliy will put that rope to the test over the next few seasons. I won a succulent plant in a really cool pot... those are the sort of plants I have in my backyard and it fits in nicely. I was able to chat with Mouse from Merced, who was the senior climber at the event and Mark Chapman. I haven’t spoken with him in like 40 years!!!! It was 1975, camp four all over again. It was really nice to meet Mike A, Gerry, Doughnutnational, climberdude, Daphne, Matt and a whole bunch of really cool people whose names escape me.

These events are really good to have, not only did we raise some money for ASCA but the climbing community became a little tighter as avatars became faces with names.
I really hope that this becomes an annual event.

On Sunday I was able to go and climb. We packed up and went to the Melting Wall. What fun! I was finally able to grab some of that fabulous stone with my own two hands and let me tell you, It was better than I could ever imagine.

Monday was spent at the “Swimming Hole Wall” my friends were pretty wiped out after all the hiking and climbing and needed a rest day. I wanted more, but that will be another day.

Thanks again to Justin and Mindy for doing the heavy lifting, I appreciate your efforts and look forward to more Shuteye trips.

Blitzo was also there to party with all of US.

Gene, sorry you missed the big doin's.

Guyman, I had no idea you'd been sick...when you shook hands it was like a vise, man!

Flip Flop advised me via phone call the other day that someone's Shuteye Guide ended up in his truck. He has his own and would like to repatriate the extra to its rightful owner. Send him a PM if you are missing yours.

I really hope this happens again next year, looks like a really good time. I missed this one because my wife Barbara competed in the U.S. Power-lifting Assn. Nationals in Vegas. We'll be there again in November for the Worlds.
