Looked for you Friday, bluering. Scuff and I cruised the campground looking for familiar faces, you were probably climbing, oh well, next time!

Had a good time climbing with you guys.
Didn't have a chance to give you a call because Milt had your number. Dave.

Bruce with some interesting quick draws.

Rich examining Tuckers feet.

And Todd getting it done.

Just a quick note-- turned out my retina did detach after all and I had surgery today and am now on a week of 24 hour bed rest. No climbing in elevation (read: no outdoor climbing) for 6 weeks. So the great climbing we got in this weekend will have to serve for a while.

A big shout out to all the amazing people I met this weekend. You are all the best-- Todd, Rich, Bruce, Blair, Beth, Billy, Lynne, Robert, Tucker, Milt, Dave, Riley and Schaffer(sp?), Sooze, and everyone else.

And a big thanks to "Coach" Locker. You rock, too!

Pics and some personal emails to come later- only allowed up to eat and pee now, so this post is cheating!

Big hug to all-- Daphne

Wild and Wonderful Thanksgiving....Part Two

Zip aka Blair, pretty much off the couch ran up "Coyote in the Bushes on Feudal Wall". Then took Lynne to Short Wall to try a couple crack climbs. I've done none in eons, if ever.

Blair led Toe Jam Express (name appropriate) and is a great teacher and proficient climber. He cruised, I learned.....don't take huge feet up a crack...to much pressure, feet get stuck...baby steps are the key. Did it.

GREAT fun and since I'm part Vampire the blood on the ankle was a bonus. : )))

Blair about to top out

From the top after doing Gotcha Bush and Donna T's route. Once I got the hang of these cracks they were Great Fun !! Like I said, Zip is a Grate teacher !

Lynne,

thanks for the kind words and photos. I hope at this age i can still lead climbs at that range. got any pics of us doing the 5.10's?

ditto back to ya about the experience.

you should be patting yourself on the back for going from needing help tying in and climbing 5.2, to getting up on 5.10's in one weekend. very impressive.

my trip report will come soon.

Daphne,

hope you have a fast a full recovery. did ya get my e mail?

Moments of technical difficulty, which we will overcome, right ?

Pre party get together. Todd on left is on the lead (of course)guiding Daphne and Zip (and Lynners) to Stephanies great 50th Birthday Party.

Pictured in Photo Billy on left and Zip.
This news reporter really let you down. Seriously apologize ! The Cactus Band was so Grate Lynne spent most of her time playing the Tamborine thus no photos...just two or three.

Note: The birthday girl was feasted with a great and incredible Thanksgiving Buffet. Met a ton of super people .... Darin I can't believe you can break dance on the dirt. But met you at the Crossroads and you had no scratches. Yo the dude, but be cool and take care. Dean good to meet you as well as many of yo dudes and dudettes. Cool crowd. Loved every minute of ze partee'.

Ok, note red object on ground under the tree that be the tambourine with backpack and camera in the pack, and the Modelos .... I was feasting on desert.

These guys were cooking, especially Mr. Drummer Dude. GREAT Tunes.

Ok, so this is the Wonderland of Todd and the rock we climbed was a gift from God. Slightly exposed beautiful rock face and fingercrack climbs....a gourmand really. No names for the routes so we'll call them all mystery goddess..cause Lori climbed with us before leaving on her Patagonia trip and she's a great climbing goddess...go L. have fun and conquer the mountain. : D

Brett Pinard leading....

Yo, Lynnie is getting into this and having Fun ! Brett is one stellar dude. Smart, nice, fun, a good gun and patient with people like me. Yo the man Brett.

Here comes Blair. He fired every route on the rock. The hard arete on the far left he missed one move then cruised to the top. Not bad for a BITD guy.

And then along comes Lynnie.....Like I said, great friends and a great day..God is so good. Even when the sheee goes down he rescues you in really weird ways, like climbing. obtw, made the climb and in good form. Just so my familia knows... : DD

Just for the kiddos, know they will be proud .... Peace and Joy from Lynnie

This is Brett on a great finger crack...the best one I've ever done in my short climbing experience.

Got a few more nice climbing photos and one more party to go. Lynnie Slow from to much fun climbing and now su mas work. So again Manana...

Say radical and Eric, YO be having fun at the J. Tree today? Know yo connected Sunday ... give us a tr. GREAT to see ya both...along with Riley's stellar SD climbing partner.

Thanks for all the great photos. Next time I'll be out there with a climbing agenda. I'd love to see some of those areas of the park that are off the beaten path.

Zip -- I've got serious Sportmobile envy now! Thanks!! Gotta get one of those...

hahaha Kind of funny. I "met" a number of you without knowing it. I was with friends at the short wall, who were all doing the moderate stuff there. I was helping them with beta, learning to climb cracks, etc. I solo'd all the routes on the wall and know I talked with Lynne and Zip at one point. I remember talking with Lynne at the top for a minute. Too funny. She wasn't drunk yet though... :)
