Tonight was the first attempted stolen base against Kershaw!
What happened to small ball?

speaking of small ball, I just read Keith Hernandez's autobiography (checked out from public library)
my favorite part was when he was at some awards ceremony. The MC showed clips of Keith Hernandez going the other way for a single or something. George Brett is in the crowd and says (paraphrase) "what a sissy hitter".
I love the sissy hitting!
But I also love George Brett's approach. Both of those dudes raked (just one with a little more power)

sometimes it's worth listening all the way to the end of a game that had seemingly already been determined.
Yankees v. BoSox games that go to the witching hour often surprise... Jeter once admonished a team mate in Fenway, "wait for the ghosts to come out"

Astros sure showed Da Bums who’s Da Boss. They’re done.
Looking forward to a Cubs and Red Sox WS.

Don't sleep on the A's!
My bet with Donini A's v. Angels, regular season record, is pretty much a sure thing at this point, but the Yankees and Astros should be feeling the heat, too.
They've been on an incredible fun for seven+ weeks and have been an absolute joy to follow.
Especially Matt Chapman and Khris Davis.

lot's of baseball to be played...
...and when you get into October, it's really anyone's guess, so random.
But I've made no secret of my desire to see a playoff game between the A's and the BoSox in the Coliseum again (expecting the same result as in 2003).

it would be nice for Beene to figure out how to get the A's into the World Series using his approach to building a team.
I believe that he has not figured out how to be successful in post-season play.

watching M's/Astros game on the tele tonight
both teams are wearing throwback jerseys. Mariners in a gorgeous robin-egg blue pullover, Astros in a gaudy (in a good way) horizontal stripe tequila sunrise looking thing

Bill Veeck definitely was a connoisseur of the chronic.
Me mum dated Charley Finley for quite a while. He didn’t consult her on uniforms though. She’s got a ball autographed by most of the team but the cheap phuk gave them a pen to use that had disappearing ink in it!
