I saw a taco stand in Merced with two signs for discount beer. One said, "cervesa" and the other said, "cerbeza".

I inherited a special ed class that had a morning meeting, velcro manipulative, that said, "Whose here"
-if it had been over the hill, in Oakland, would Gertrude Stein have claimed it?

Agree with Mike: led. Actually, I don't think it is the most commonly misspelled word, but it's pretty common and it's the one that bugs me the most. I see it almost every time I visit.
"Led" is the past tense of "lead."
"It's my lead. You led the last one."

bandido = Spanish for bandit or robber, correctly spelled 2x
Incorrectly spelled as "bandito" 188x, "ito" is a suffix which means "little". Perhaps much of the confusion is left over from the old advertising campaign, "The Frito Bandito".
2 correct (now 3) : 188 incorrect, what a ratio!

Right on. You have to be a loser to misspell loser.
