almost everything to do with chalk : drawing on the rock with it , colored chalk , the kinnaloa type printed chalkbags , those chalk pockets or whatever used by sharma where he just pats his pant-leg , the old yosemite style of slinging the bag around one shoulder and those huge sit-on-the-ground bags too . all whack .

i thought the hamm's bear was the seventies? my grandparents' store had a very different hamms display in the sixties. but then, we were behind the times.
and i still sometimes climb in my swami.
dumb stuff i wish i hadn't done that i'm willing to document online: running down from tahquitz over and over again. probably burned 1/4 inch of cartilage on that alone.

I used to think that driving back to Gunnison (through South Park and over Monarch Pass) in the middle of a moon lit winter night with the lights off was cool.
Oh and Swiss seat harnesses.

Those Rugby shirts with the white Flexible buttons still Rock....
Homemade gear and girth hitching Wired nuts ( cause you couldn't afford biners).... That was cool and Lucky, Schlizt is OK if you can keep er' down...

Dude I would never trade growing up in the seventies for anything........ Cheap dope, Lenient parents,Skylab,Jimmy Carter, the ousting of Nixon, Cheap Gas, Unclimbed cracks and a lot of love and dope, forget the small things Disco and bell bottoms........
Now we have AIDS, HEP C and gas heading towards $5 a gallon, that used to fill up your tank in a '71' Buick Skylark that could get you from CC to the Meadows in under an hour. Life sucks I'm going back to girth hitching my nuts... might save weight on the rack?
