Hey Susan,
I just emailed you. I am in but have no interest in the $2.00 option, that is if I have a choice.
Did not see rules as to time of weigh in etc?

The $2 option was in the previous years rules, in the thread
that was linked.
Separate $2 pool (optional) for the biggest single LOSER in the
greater Diet Challenge gene pool.

this weight loss stuff is ghey. i could loose 10lbs in a week.
it should be january 08 beer challenge. something like you have to drink 180 beers in 30 days. thats low enough that amatuers can even do it. keep all yer beer caps and add em up at the end.
1 dollar for every beer you dont drink.
another good challange is to not drink ANYTHING for one week that does not have alcohol in it. thats a tough one, but again, very doable if you are committed.
two different people gave me bottle openers for xmas. wtf?

Sh#t I forgot I'm going to Grand Cayman for a week next week. Looks like this changes/ ruins my plans of golfing, drinking, eating, sitting on the beech, floating and bloating, and playing cards all day... I might have to pass on the cart and actually walk the average 18 hole course of 4.2 miles.
I'm totally gonna win.

Just as a word of encouragement to anyone thinking of doing this...and taking the opportunity to spray, of course
I made some diet changes and stuck with them for the full 30 days:
* No fast food (even the "healthy stuff" like garden burgers)
* No non-diet soda
* One high-fiber meal per day
* One salad per day
* 25 gram protein supplement (I'm vegetarian)
Even though I only lost 6 pounds during the challenge, sticking with the diet means I'm down a total of 14 pounds from my weight one week before the challenge started. Thats more than 10% of my starting body weight. :) :) :)
Good luck this year, guys! I'll be pulling for all of you. Stick with it, even if it sucks, you'll feel soooo great at the end!

I was in the Diet Challenge a year ago. What a ride that was. I weighed out at the hotel voted "stickiest carpet in Vegas". I made it. I dropped the weight and kept most of it off. The Challenge is a good thing. After the whole PMB story of this week every last one of us could take a good hard look at are diet.
Good luck Tub-O's ™ - I mean it!

Sooze - you heartless bitch! First tell me this before I commit to this [likely expensive] group flagellation: why are you in this anyway? And exactly where would you find ten pounds to lose? Beacause, while I could be wrong (then again I wasn't that drunk), but offhand I don't recall you having ten pounds to spare, girl.

James, you only have to pay if you don't lose the 10 pounds. $10.00 for every pound you DON'T lose. Lose 8 pounds you'll be paying $20 to the pool. Winners split the prize money.
Joseph, Thank you for the complement, but I always have 10 to lose. Way more fat than muscle as we get older, eh?
We also have another participant. Just checked my email and a nice chap named Brandon (outed himself as a few pound heavier than he prefer & a long time lurker) will now be joining the fun.
For the rest of you who think you don't have 10 to lose, consider doing the contest anyways. I've been in the DC before where I was not in the winners pool and had to pay $10 or $20 bucks because I was short in losing the full 10 pounds. In the end, I was still happy - $20 to lose 8 pounds is a bargain considering I wouldn't have lost anything without a challenge.

FatTrad: "I had the slab-o-ham breakfast this morning" - About as believable as most of the rest of his posts. Jeff may not be particularly observant or anything, but it seems a squeak that he'd be eating ham.
As I'm a lean, mean, climbing machine, I'll refrain from entering the contest. :-)
