The Fratellis are my favorite new band in years. Three guys from Glasgow who just do loud butt shaking rock stuff (ipod used their "Flathead" single in an ad campaign earlier in winter so you've probably heard 'em and don't know it).

Their "Costello Music" cd just got released stateside last Tuesday. Start to finish the whole thing just rocks.

Some unique anti-drug videos:

Someone called Strata (not sure what their deal is, but very stylized video)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VS1HDl59uA4

And The Streets, playing a dealer who also OD's on ecstasy whilst crashing a wedding to deliver some. Parental warning on this one - you will feel nauseous.

Yow Raydog.

A gentle ode to Woman, by the giant ensemble band Lambchop.

Cool video too.

edit to add:

speaking of ensemble rock, The Polyphonic Spree answer the question, "What happens to college band members after graduation?" They rock for sure:

RE: "you will never beat KING TUBBY"

I bet you're right - like the more I listen the more the basics are right on - if you like King Tubby you might also dig Little Walter - Electric Harmonica Genius, yeah that's the name of the CD.

I been building a massive James Brown library as well, sometimes I swear it's like the best ever.

Total FLAC/APE/MP3 files in Audio drive H is 101 gigs and counting.

Nita, I have been checking their schedule, but looks like it will be July in WV before I will see them again. They are in NC the first of June, but I will be in boulder attending (and shooting) the wedding of a good friend. Would love to see them out there, and would love to visit the valley again, but might have to wait til next year.

I saw mention of dub side of the moon, and that is a killer album as well. Easy Street All-stars. They do a great version of Radiohead as well.

It's late on Sunday night but I thought I'd post this for anyone still awake.

It's LOUIS ARMSTRONG and JOHNNY CASH live! I had no idea.

How to explain this one? Well, it's got Alice Cooper singing "School's Out."

But what is with the muppets?
