Lois,
You probably have forgotten but Gore was quite adamant about taking out Saddam late in the Clinton second term.
My perseption of this Iraq mess is not that the intial war was wrong; it was done very badly. Bush is simply incompetent. And that incompetence is manifest in Afganistan also. Truth be told, no one, if honest, knows how the ME mess is going to evolve. It was heading toward a major explosion before we invaded Iraq, and the invasion threw another factor into the mix. It's like trying to predict the weather beyond three or four days: you can take only educated guesses.
I make one tentative prediction: it's going to get much worse; and if Iran gets nukes, much, much worse.

That is indeed a proud photo!

There stands a woman who believes in unconditional love, and truly believes the bit about "for better or for worse, in sickness and in health."

The world needs more people like her.

And my thanks to him for going to war so I don't have to.

Respectfully,
Pete

It is a powerful picture that shows how a one's personal sacrifice affects so many. I am also proud of the woman who chose to partake in that sacrifice.

I must admit that I did have an ulterior motive in posting this. If you look back at this photo there is nothing political posted. I wanted to see how many would interpret it as a photo they could attach their selfish political opinion to, or who could just look and feel empathy.

I wont point any fingers, i might get them chopped off.

LEB-exactly what does he look like to you?

B4 you answer, consider both "marketing" and "culture". What would the "kids" say?

I agree with Riles, not proud at all...has a tragic element, JMO.

What a repugnant thing for Riley to say. He should delete the post.

Reality is sad. One reason the U.S. has gone as far as to bomb the News Agency http://english.aljazeera.net

One of the things about blowing the liberal or conversative horn is the vary concrete fact that all or us are everything, and when we side with one view we project onto "them" everything else so "they" have to hold what "we" don't like (but which will bust up in dreams and in the people who gravitate your way). It's all complete bullsh#t, this silly naming and labeling, and we're unconscious to the extent that we do as much.

Yes, beautiful Janet. Pure love can transcend all material qualities and it's dualities.

It's the most powerful weapon known.

It has no limits. None!

Ditto Juan, this is true. Was profiled on Oprah and it is also the true love of quite a woman.

The dismembered bodies look like they are the results of mines.I am not aware that we are mining any of Iraq.

LEB,what credentials do you have to judge the intellect or capability of the President? He makes decisions based on the intelligence he receives from his advisors, you are better informed,or just repeating Healy's mantra, please clarify.Do you ever fly jets? Are you a Yale graduate?Leader of a nation?Elected official?Intelligence officer?

I agree,war sucks,always has,and always has been.Reality is,since 9/11,no attacks on U.S. soil.How do you explain that?

Whitey, find some other straws to clutch at,I know there are mines in Iraq you idiot,I said we haven't placed any,and we haven't because we don't have any designs on keeping the place.

If those as#@&%es place mines, and innocents are injured, yep, that sucks, and they will have to deal with it.

The Anthrax was internal, not Islamofacist related and you know it....well...then again maybe you don't,but everyone else does.

Try again.

Concur with Werner and Janet. Love can overcome any number of wrongs - Solomon said this thousands of years ago. If you have ever loved, and been loved, you know this.

This girl could have bailed, knowing what she was getting into. My first post focused on what an awesome gal she must be to stick by her man.

Upon further thought, you have to wonder what kind of dude he is. He's a US Marine, which makes him incredibly bitchin'. But he must have an amazing heart, too, for her to stick by him. He must be one first-class helluva-fine dude.

Either that, or very very rich, or with a helluva big sabre.
