Trump is already taking a victory lap on the North Korea situation. I wish I could congratulate him but I think it is premature.

We’ve gotten to this point, what? three times in the past, I’ve read(?) will four be the real one?
And what are we being distracted from, this time? What will he do while we are watching elsewhere?

The key takeaway from that article is this:
"As long as the US hostile policy and nuclear threat remains unchallenged, the DPRK will never place its self-defensive nuclear deterrence on the negotiating table."
The success of the present talks basically revolves around a U.S. willingness to stand down from the peninsula and adjoining seas. That is likely to be unpalatable to trump, the military, and to Japan.
