In the village of Ayacata at 4200' on the south side of Gran Canaria. It was rainy and cold with 30+ mph winds. I had been on the bike for 5 hours and still had a cold, bumpy 1.5 hour descent back down to the coast.

So if four guys are having type 2 fun does that make it type 8 fun?
Type two raised to the 4th power?
Or do you divide the fun type by the # of guys and get type 1/2 fun?

drapnea, now that is a terrifying scene, all those bumps that make going unsound in the night.
How pleasant, and even beautiful in the daylight.
While I don't have an image, I have a picture in my mind of the "Alpine Garden" on Mt. Washington. Some wit put a sign up along the trail. One cold winter day with the ever present wind whipping along the exit I spied it under 4" of clear ice. Later that year, on a sun dappled day in July, my wife Debbie and I were traipsing up the trail and we saw the sign, I related it's winter condition.
Later on that hike Debbie asked why the 3' high cairns were so closely spaced. I told her to imagine standing at one of them and not being able to see the next, or the previous one. Just like fun, only different.

This one usually gives me a chuckle. I was so smug thinking how brilliant I was with the $3 pool raft for a sleeping pad. My partner knew I was an idiot but laughed with me. I probably shouldn't have gone to sleep wearing my harness and nut cleaning tool.
This was the second night:
I think these can be considered portraits of fun without needing to show a face.

Jody, the one with the long horn ?
My GF is a large animal vet and traded some ranch time for some castrations, vaccinations, etc. Her dart gun hadn't been working for a while but in Bimbo mode she reckoned if it sat in the truck for a while it might start working again. Well....it f*#kin didn't and ran out of gas 2 cows too soon. Having dragged her up snake dike for her 2nd roped climb then going to the 4th of July rodeo in Bridgeport I was privy to hear a REAL COWBOY explain how to properly take down a steer. Soooo....I roped the 1st one on the 1st try and did just as he has explained it( you don't get them in a head lock, too big) you roll the nose one and tip them like a tortoise on their back, towards you, then cinch the back leg(see the rope from the neck to the head- it also exposed the soon to be liberated family jewels). So I was pretty proud of takin down this cow(1st ever roping attempt from a Polaris) but the mom wasn't too thrilled and was behind me...it was 107F so I was wearing the appropriate attire.
BTW you can see Bridgeport fireworks from the travertine pool !
