Why do I suspect Donini's Type 2 fun would be my Type 3 fun, and my Type 2 is his Type 1? :p
Regardless, I'll be back with a picture when I can get to my computer.

Summit of Castle Rock Spire with Guy Keesee.
We were two parties of two. Guy and myself, then Bill Leventhal and Rachel McCollum. We did the regular route, Bill and I both lead all the pitches free. It was a great day. I suppose Bill took the picture. I had one of those single use throw away cameras.
Edit: Mike Caldwell, Tommy's Dad, made that gear sling set up for me. He called it the Gear Brazier.

A couple of y'all seem unclear on the concept here. As clearly evidenced by my friends here, Type II Fun is all about grace and mastery of the endeavor:
Wide open terrain and efficient movement in the mountains:
Confidence in your abilities and decision-making:
And the satisfaction of knowing you've conquered your objective:

As in "Portrait" means you gotta see the face ;-)
Does favorite mean we can only post one? But I have so many (I'm sure Jim does too.) So if I stretch the rules maybe he will too and Locker will have more raw materials....

No sh#t.
The best way to understand Type 2 fun is the way Barry Blanchard described it: "It don't have to be fun, to be fun."
Happy climbers on a sunny summit does not qualify.

last fall. what we thought would be a short afternoon hike up the highest peak in the maratimes/ New Brunswic ended up a 34k suffer fest. left the van at noon 20. How hard can an 820m peak be??? no trail map, no beta, just a road atlas that said it was the highest point in new Brunswic, nova scotia etc, etc.. parc national closed for the season, gate locked. no problem there must be signs. there were signs. a bit vauge at first but they got better. anyways we eventually found the summit and our way back to the westy. This is my portrait at the tail end of a 34+k sufferfest. Rocking the boxers due to heat rash in the crotch....
