The "who causes more accidents" argument strikes me as something less than convincing. After all, who causes more accidents, people unimpaired by any drug or people high on acid?
Still, my future in munchies depends on 64's passage.

You mean it's not legal? That stuffs been around for what, like 50 years?
I'm cool with it. No way anyone should be hassled or arrested for having it for personal use. Legalize it, control it like alcohol. There's better things for the courts and law enforcement to deal with.

The problem is that pot stays in your bloodstream for 30+ days. There's not a good way to test for recent consumption.
I partake and will vote no. Medical cannabis is an industry that is making good money. I like it the way it is without the government involved. We've all been growing for years in Cali.

Big daddy .Gov found a new revenue stream and platform for much more legislation than when it's just simply outlawed.
It's a win-win for them so you can expect it to legalize more and more.

Wow.. I know folks who race sprint cars and win sometimes. Pre race prep... 3 or 4 big fat snaps, a little slamdancing to Pantara, jump in the car.
And I usta get the really good stuff BITD... the stuff today is the same only the growers are better and its all manicured.
And the Airplane Pot.... that was really hard to move down in the SFV... could only get about $35/OZ. I had a bunch of it.

If it doesn't get legalized this time, it will sometime in the future.
I still think a better way to reduce accidents is on two fronts. Make it harder to get a license and have fewer cars on the road.
These would be way more effective than keeping pot at its current status.
I realize I don't care either way,I don't feel like my habits will change much.
But I might finally be able to try some of that cannabis lotion for my aches and pains.. ;)

Does anyone remember that California is right in the middle of a severe DROUGHT?
Now's not the time to be adding another major crop to suck more water out of our already depleted aquifer, especially since agriculture hogs way more than its fair share of water as it is.
Until California increases water storage so there's no more calls for *conservation*, we can just keep getting weed from Canada, where there's plenty of water, or Mexico, where nobody cares.

I could take ten bong hits of the best weed in the world, and still drive better than most of the idiots on the road.
Round here I need to do 10 bong hits of the best weed in the world so I can drive with all these idiots on the road.
On a serious note, I'm currently filling out my Overseas Voter Ballot and trying to find real information on the props. It is frustrating the heck out of me. Anyone have a link to a site that explains the pros + cons in a way that is understandable for slow thinkers like me and especially ones that are not up to date ('cuz I'm gone much of the year) on the issues?

Thanks

Couchmaster: I don't smoke it, but most of my climbing friends do and they should not be made out to be criminals for puffing on a bong now and then.
Now and then?

Heard on NPR this morning that some state (I forget) which legalized pot within the last
few years saw a doubling of pot related auto accidents.
A stat with no meaning. What's double 09%? In Washington state the stat doubled from 40 crashes after legalization.
Authorities in Washington recorded 436 fatal crashes in 2013, and determined that drivers involved in 40 crashes tested positive for THC, the active chemical in marijuana, according to the study. In 2014 they found that of 462 fatal crashes, 85 drivers tested positive for THC.
And testing positive for THC doesn't mean there weren't other contributing factors.
The real stats are accidents while drunk, talking on a cell phone( even a no hands phone). And texting.

I have no opinion about accidents, but I encourage Californians to pass this initiative and take the pressure off southern Colorado. This past Spring over a two month period there were something like sixteen raids by the Pueblo County Sheriff, FBI, DEA, etc. in my community of Pueblo West, a suburban district of 30K about ten miles from the crime-ridden city of Pueblo.
Homes purchased by interested parties were converted into grow houses, with the products being loaded into U-Haul-its and vans and shipped to Florida and other points east. Most were identified by local residents due to moldy outer walls, fumes, odors, etc. Interestingly, Pueblo county refused to allow sales in the city, but allowed sales in Pueblo West, where there are now more than ten outlets. The result: taxes are collected here where I live and then distributed throughout the county, principally in Pueblo - which is a really serious opioid center.
Californians, for your sake I hope the initiative does not allow communities to make up their own rules and decide about local sales. Colorado has turned into a hodge-podge of areas that allow/don't allow such sales, with all sorts of local restrictions or guidelines. It's kind of a mess.
