Thanks so much for all your work on the rock and on sharing the beta . significant contribution to the Tahoe area, thanks.

I'm especially glad to see it because I was in there a few years ago wondering wow wtf is that! Never made it right up to the base..or the top.. used up the gas 4x looking for the approach

Update on Slick Rock:

I was up there today to tighten a bolt reported on Mountain Project as loose, and to finally replace one old 1/4" that we had missed on the climb Urethra.

Climbers have been wearing in the trail as well as adding more cairns and markers, so it is now a well worn trail and pretty near impossible to get lost.

All the info is now on Mountain Project Slick Rock.

The fall is a great time for the dome!

The road to Slick Rock is now open (well, to about 100 yards from the creek). I made it in my Subaru Outback but a low clearance car may have trouble with the deeply rutted road from the heavy winter. They have graded the first 3 miles - hopefully they will finish it.

The creek is a swift icy crossing, but as you walk down the road towards the creek there is a rock cairn on the left. Go straight down to the creek from the cairn and there are a few log bridges there. Cross on a log, head up and slightly right and you'll hit the road/trail on the other side of the creek. Go left and follow the other instructions.

I also put up three new sport climbs on Slick Rock Slab as the trail first touches the rock.  Super fun, easy sport climbs. Someone (Niko) a few weeks ago had mistaken two loose bolts high on the wall as a rebolted climb, and he ended up with a scary 5.7 downclimb.  So I put some sport anchors above those bolts, tightened them up, added some more and made a climb out it.  These are the climbs the furthest right (so far) on the dome.  The one of the left ("No No Niko") is 5.7.  The two on the right are 5.6.  Each has 5 bolts and are about 65 feet.

Get out there before its too hot!
